Research On The Impact Of FDI Technology Spillover On Local High-tech Industries

With the rapid development of economic globalization today,the level of science and technology has become the source and driving force for a country’s continuous development and improvement of its overall strength.The improvement of science and technology level mainly comes from two aspects.The first is internal research and development,that is,through the continuous accumulation of self-technical strength and stock.The second is to achieve improvement and development through various methods of technology learning and introduction,and good use of spillover results.Compared with developed countries with relatively advanced technological development,the introduction of foreign investment is undoubtedly the good way for developing countries to promote economic and industrial growth.Correspondingly,from the perspective of introducing foreign capital,it is particularly important to study how to absorb and learn from the world’s frontier economic development achievements with more scientific approach to promote the transformation of spillover achievements and the overall improvement of our country’s technological level.High-tech industry,as a capital-intensive,technology-intensive and talent-intensive high-tech industry cluster,has a strategic position and role in the development and technological progress of the country.It also makes an extremely critical radiating and in leading roles for basic industries and other related industries.Therefore,this article picks up our country’s high-tech industry(manufacturing industry)as the research objects,using a combination of theory and empirical methods,from the three main ways of FDI technology spillover:talent flow effect,demonstration effect and competition effect to measure individually whether the technology spillovers impact on our country’s local high-tech industry is promoting,hindering,or not significant.After the positive promotion is obtained in output results,the explanatory variables selected under the three approaches are comprehensively considered to investigate and evaluate their specific effects thoroughly and figure out the mechanisms on our country’s local industries.At the same time,based on the research results of this step,it can be judged that the positive influence coefficient of FDI technology spillovers on country’s local high-tech industries is in a secondary position compared with the influence coefficient of local enterprises’ own technological research and development strength.Therefore,in addition to considering the impact of FDI spillover,this article also focuses on the development level and absorptive capacity of the local industry itself,which is also a key factor that affects the absorption and transformation of FDI spillover positively.Based on the foregoing research results,continue to build an absorptive capacity evaluation system and establish a threshold model to judge whether different threshold absorption rates are promoted at different stages during the FDI absorption process of local high-tech industry in their own development.Based on the empirical results of the two parts,we could final evaluate the impact of FDI spillovers on our local high-tech industries comprehensively.Relying on the characteristics of industrial development,discuss how FDI spillover and absorptive capacity can form a benign interaction model to exert synergistic effects,put forward reasonable suggestions to promote the sustainable and healthy development of our country’s local high-tech industry,thereby promoting the progress of our country’s overall technological level.
