Research On The Impact Of Intellectual Property Protection On The Innovation Performance Of Manufacturing Enterprises

Promoting the innovation of manufacturing enterprises is the best way to realize the high-quality development of China’s economy,and intellectual property protection is an important institutional measure to improve the innovation performance of manufacturing enterprises.Intellectual property protection affects the knowledge base of manufacturing enterprises by affecting their willingness to share knowledge,and then affects their innovation.For manufacturing enterprises,it is worth exploring how the intellectual property protection system affects the enterprise innovation performance,whether the intellectual property protection affects the enterprise innovation performance through the knowledge base,and what impact the R&D investment has on this mechanism.The research of this paper provides a certain reference for manufacturing enterprises to carry out knowledge management,provides theoretical support for strengthening the protection of intellectual property rights and promoting the innovation of manufacturing enterprises,and has a certain reference significance for enterprises to reasonably allocate R&D resources,reduce costs and improve efficiency.Based on knowledge-based theory and technological innovation theory,this paper constructs a theoretical model and puts forward assumptions,using Stata15.0 empirical analysis on the effective data of 131 manufacturing enterprises listed in Shanghai and Shenzhen from 2016 to 2020.The empirical results show that:(1)Intellectual property protection and the breadth of knowledge base have a positive impact on the innovation performance of manufacturing enterprises,but the depth of knowledge base has an inverted U-shaped relationship with the innovation performance of manufacturing enterprises;(2)The breadth of knowledge base plays an intermediary role between intellectual property protection and innovation performance of manufacturing enterprises,while the depth of knowledge base does not play an intermediary role between them;(3)R&D investment negatively regulates the relationship between the breadth of knowledge base and the innovation performance of manufacturing enterprises,but positively regulates the relationship between the depth of knowledge base and the innovation performance of manufacturing enterprises;(4)R&D investment negatively regulates the impact of intellectual property protection on innovation performance through the breadth of knowledge base.
