The Research On The Influence Of Trust Among Members On The Governance Structure Of Farmer Cooperatives

After the promulgation and implementation of the Law on Cooperatives,the development of farmers’ cooperatives in my country has entered a new peak.Many scholars have conducted research on cooperatives,but most of the research directions tend to focus on the performance of cooperatives,the factors that affect the development of cooperatives,and so on.In this context,this paper discusses the effect of interpersonal trust among members on members’ participation behavior,which in turn affects the efficiency of cooperative governance structure.Trust among members includes two aspects:the personal qualities of other members and the attitude of other members towards "I".Member participation behavior includes three aspects:capital participation,production participation and management participation.Capital participation and production participation can bring direct economic benefits to members,but if there are only these two participation behaviors,the benefits may not be stable,and the cooperative relationship between farmers and cooperatives is easily interrupted by other factors or Therefore,members need to participate in the management of the cooperative and safeguard their own interests through their own participation.These participation behaviors will directly affect the interests of members and the adjustment of the cooperative’s governance structure,and affect the healthy development of the cooperative.Correspondingly,the governance structure of the cooperative and the interests and satisfaction of the members will also in turn affect the participation of the members,and the two influence each other.Therefore,this paper chooses to study that the trust among members will affect their participation behavior,which in turn affects the adjustment of the cooperative governance structure.This has an important impact on increasing farmers’ income and promoting the healthy development of cooperatives.The empirical research results show that high trust among members has a positive impact on the participation behavior of members,and the participation behavior of members has a positive impact on the governance structure of the cooperative.Member participation behavior plays a mediating role in interpersonal trust and governance structure among members.Based on the above analysis,this paper believes that in order to improve the governance structure of cooperatives,on the one hand,it is necessary to maintain a high degree of trust among members and reduce the transaction cost of cooperatives;Guide and urge cooperatives to establish a scientific and reasonable governance structure;in addition,the government should increase support,implement preferential policies,and truly solve the practical difficulties in the development of cooperatives.
