| With the deepening of economic globalization and trade liberalization, trade barriers among economies are gradually liberalized and trade exchanges are becoming closer. However, among many kinds of products, agricultural products,as the most important and sensitive trade field, some countries always maintain a high degree of protection, which greatly restricts the trade of agricultural products. In order to promote the development of agricultural trade liberalization, the World Trade Organization(WTO)has carried out multilateral free trade negotiations for many times, trying to find a good solution. However,in view of the slow progress of WTO negotiations, regional trade agreements(RTA)have gradually become the main means for countries to accelerate the construction of global production networks and began to spread all over the world.Through the signing of regional trade agreements, both parties can obtain greater benefits from trade liberalization by implementing trade rules more suitable for their own environment.Based on this,The number of trade agreements has increased rapidly in a short period of time.By 2021,568 RTAs have been declared to the WTO.As the most widely used form of regional trade agreement, free trade agreement(FTA)has gradually become the first choice for countries to establish bilateral or multilateral free trade. At present,16 FTA agreements in China have officially entered into force, involving 23 countries and regions. As a major agricultural trading country in the world,China has signed FTA with partner countries to reduce the cost of trade in agricultural products and expand the scale of trade in agricultural products with partner countries. Therefore, the free trade agreement will have an important impact on China’s agricultural products export. The research on this issue is of great practical significance. The first part of this paper introduces the research background and significance of this article, combing the relevant literature from two aspects:the impact of FTA on trade and the impact of FTA on agricultural export trade, introducing the research methods and basic framework of this article, and pointing out the innovation and deficiency of this article. In the second part, this paper analyzes the relevant theories, and combs the influence mechanism. In the third part, this paper combs and analyzes the relevant provisions between China and FTA partner countries, and divides the provisions into tariff and non-tariff aspects.Through the horizontal comparison between multiple countries,The degree of agricultural trade liberalization between China and partner countries was evaluated objectively. The fourth part makes a statistical analysis of the current situation of agricultural trade between China and partner countries in the FTA,and makes an in-depth study on the characteristics of agricultural trade between China and other countries based on the RCA index and TCI index. In the fifth part, this paper selects the top 40 trading partner countries or regions according to China’s agricultural product export data in 2019,sorts out the product level trade export data from 2002 to 2019 according to the HS-6 quantile code.Based on the theory of comparative advantage, this paper makes an empirical study on the impact of FTA on agricultural trade by using the extended gravity model, free trade area theory and heterogeneous enterprise trade theory,On this basis, the influence sources of FTA are discussed, and then the influence mode of FTA is further analyzed based on the binary margin, and the robustness test is carried out. Finally,it comes to the conclusion that FTA promotes China’s agricultural exports through tariff concessions and the elimination of non-tariff barriers, and mainly achieves the purpose of promoting exports through intensive margin. In addition, the corresponding policy suggestions are given according to the research results. The innovation of this thesis is mainly reflected in the following two points:First, the innovation of research perspective. At present, the research on FTA mostly focuses on the analysis of its feasibility, necessity and prospect, while the research on the impact after the actual establishment of FTA is less. The research on the impact of FTA on agricultural trade mostly focuses on the competitiveness, complementarity and trade structure of trade, and mostly studies a single trade agreement at the national level, lacking horizontal comparison. In addition, there is less application of binary margin in the research methods affecting the export trade of agricultural products. Therefore, based on several trade agreements signed by China, this paper makes a horizontal comparative analysis on the text terms and the changes of China’s export trade with its agricultural products after signing, and makes an empirical analysis from the product level combined with the binary margin, which can have a certain innovation and research value.Second, the research is more microscopic. In the empirical research, this paper will explore the export data based on HS-6 quantile coding, and the research will be specific to the product level, with a more microscopic method. |
