| In the current context of open innovation, the innovation behavior of enterprises is no longer limited within the organization. The two-way flow of knowledge across organizational boundaries has become an important path for enterprises to enhance their innovation capability. The collaborative cooperation based on external knowledge acquisition has become the key to cultivate innovation capability and realize innovation driven development. In this context,it is of great significance to explore the relationship between external knowledge search and innovation performance. However, throughout the existing literature, the current research on the relationship between external knowledge search and enterprise innovation has not reached a unified conclusion.Secondly, the existing literature mainly focuses on the direct impact of external knowledge search on enterprise innovation performance, less on the mediating path between the two,and how the enterprise capacity participates in the impact process. Moreover, the current research only defines innovation performance in a more general way,and does not further divide the types of innovation. In fact, the differences in the degree and content of innovation will affect the relationship between the two. Finally, the innovation behavior of enterprises is the effective integration of a series of internal and external knowledge.Under different knowledge stocks, due to the difference of absorptive capacity, the impact of knowledge search on innovation performance may be strengthened or weakened. Therefore, under the premise of limited enterprise resources, based on different knowledge stocks and innovation objectives, further exploring the differential impact of knowledge search on dual innovation has important guiding significance for enterprise practice.Based on the open innovation theory and innovation search theory, this paper makes a full sample and group Empirical Study on the survey data of 414 enterprises in the Yangtze River Delta, explores the impact of knowledge search on dual innovation under different knowledge-based situations, and tries to answer the following specific questions:(1)what is the impact mechanism of knowledge search and capability reconstruction on dual innovation?(2)What moderating effect does knowledge base have in the impact of knowledge search on dual innovation?(3)What are the differences in the impact of knowledge search on dual innovation under the combination of different degrees of internal knowledge base? Finally, the following conclusions are drawn: first, the width and depth of knowledge search can significantly promote dual innovation, and no matter which model, the influence of search depth is stronger.Second, capability evolution plays an intermediary role between the depth of external knowledge search and dual innovation, and capability substitution plays an intermediary role between the width of external knowledge search and dual innovation.Thirdly, knowledge base width positively regulates the linear relationship between knowledge search width and dual innovation, and knowledge base depth negatively regulates the relationship between knowledge search depth and dual innovation.Fourth, under different degrees of knowledge base combination, the impact of knowledge search on dual innovation is different, that is,the direction of knowledge search can significantly promote dual innovation by making up for the lack of internal knowledge.Generally speaking, the conclusion of this paper is to further improve and expand the previous research results. On the basis of enriching the relevant theories of knowledge search on innovation performance,it deconstructs the path between the two from the perspective of capability. At the same time, based on the perspective of complementary matching of internal and external knowledge structure,it is poor type, specific type, independent type Active and ideal enterprises provide targeted suggestions. |
