Abstract/Summary:
Laos is the only landlocked country in Southeast Asia,and its economic development level is relatively backward.According to Lao government statistics in 2020,Laos’ GDP in 2020 is 19.14 billion US dollars,and its per capita GDP is 2,546 US dollars.The per capita income level is far lower than the international average level.However,the Lao government has been actively developing its own economy,taking full advantage of its geographical location,and actively carrying out cooperation and exchanges with neighboring countries,especially trade cooperation with China.China is a big economic country,and its economic development level has become the second largest economy in the world.China’s huge market potential has deeply attracted other countries to cooperate with it.Laos is geographically adjacent to China’’s Yunnan.With its geographical advantage,Laos actively participates in the establishment of the China-ASEAN Free Trade Area and “the Belt and Road” Initiative proposed by China,which provides the opportunity as well as vitality for trade between Laos and China.The Mohan Port in the border area between Laos and China has become an important trade checkpoint,and the Mennamo area in Luang Namtha Province,Laos is relatively close to the Mohan Port.Under the radiation of the Mohan Port,Laos Luang Namtha Province Residents in the Monnamo area of Laos have carried out border trade with residents of China,which has increased the income of the residents of the Monnamo area in Luang Namtha Province,Laos.There are differences in the incomes of residents of the region.Based on this background,this paper takes the border trade between Laos and China as the basis,and takes the income of residents in the Mennamo area of Luang Namtha Province,Laos as an example,to actively explore the impact of China-Laos border trade on Muangnao,Luang Namtha Province,Laos.The impact of residents’ income in the Mo area.In this paper,the field research method is used to collect data on the income of residents in the Munnam district of Luang Namtha province,Laos,to study the income of households living in the villages near the checkpoint and far from the checkpoint in this area,and to study the income of the residents in the area.Trade Influence Factors.The results of the study finds that residents close to the checkpoint and those far away from the checkpoint have different incomes under the radiation of the Laos-China border trade,and their Gini coefficients are 0.2291 and0.2666 respectively.The distance to the checkpoint is closely related.
