Taking the three-dimensional model of discourse analysis proposed by Norman Fairclough as a theoretical framework, the thesis examines the discourse, discursive practices, socialization practices and vocabulary of the news discourse of the spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs,Hua Chunying,as an example. The research methods of documentary research, textual analysis, case study analysis and quantitative research are mainly used for specific analysis. At the level of discourse, the discourse of the spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs can be divided into two forms: the speech of the spokesperson and the question and answer session. The content of the discourse is of a journalistic nature and is often directly quoted in media reports. The discursive features of the discourse can be divided into figurative and linguistic features. The image of the discourse is influenced by the image of the state and the image of the individual. The spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs,as the subject of the discourse,is the main influencing factor in the formation of the image, while the state represented by the spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs is the indirect subject in the formation of the image of the discourse and is an indirect influencing factor in the image of the discourse, which is in line with the expression of the image of the state. The linguistic features of the discourse are concretely manifested in the combination of principle and strategy, statement and explanation, and theory and fact.At the level of discourse practice, the press discourse practice of the spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs includes discourse generation, discourse transmission and discourse reception.Discourse generation is jointly influenced by the spokesperson and the journalists present, both of whom have an agenda-setting role in discourse generation. The process of discourse dissemination is diffused, mainly in the field of dissemination at the regular press conference of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and in the media of each country.According to the recipients of the discourse, there are journalists and media audiences, who are the direct and indirect recipients of the discourse respectively. The problems in the practice of press discourse by the spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs are as follows: in the production of discourse, the spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs is prone to blurring the line between "front" and "back".In the dissemination of the discourse,it is easy to lose the voice of the discourse due to the lack of communication channels. In the reception of the discourse, there is a tendency for the discourse to be misrepresented due to cultural bias.At the level of socialization practice, the press discourse of the spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs is involved in the construction of the national image and the socialization practice of the narrative of the Chinese story, and its discourse has important implications for both. The use of "persuasive" discourse helps others to form an understanding of the national image through a dialogue of equality and mutual trust;the use of emotional discourse creates a rich,flesh-and-blood China. The socialization of the narrative of the Chinese story by the spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs lies in the ability to set the agenda of the discourse,to construct a narrative framework using frame theory and to expand the narrative content and scope of the Chinese story through multiple communications. At the lexical level,a case study and quantitative research on the press discourse of Hua Chunying, the spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, reveals that the vocabulary in the press discourse of the spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs is characterized by topicality, principle and change, which to a certain extent determines the form, content and characteristics of the press discourse of the spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The press discourse of the spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs always follows the latest diplomatic events, and the expressions of China’s foreign policy in his discourse always adhere to certain principles of foreign policy and the treaties and agreements signed by China. The vocabulary in the discourse changes according to the level of interest in the event, the importance of the policy and the changes in diplomatic relations. The vocabulary in the press discourse of the spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has a mutually constructive relationship with China’s foreign policy.
