IP transactions involve multiple parties,including right holders,inventors,transferees,and intermediaries,and effectively coordinating and motivating these different interests is an urgent problem.Moreover,the transaction process suffers from a lack of transparency,trust,and information asymmetry,making it challenging to negotiate fair and efficient deals.The traditional intermediary-based model has drawbacks,including potential fairness and reliability issues,additional costs,and security concerns.Blockchain technology,with its immutability,transparency,and traceability,presents a natural solution to establish trust,information sharing,and tracing in IP transactions.In this context,we propose a Blockchain-based Intellectual Property Trading Platform(BIPTP)that leverages blockchain’s advantages to address the above issues.The main contributions and innovations of this article are as follows:(1)Our approach uses smart contracts to precisely match transactions,customize multi-party transfer and revenue distribution contracts,and simplify the transaction process.It guarantees the rights and interests of multiple parties,including IP rights holders,inventors,assignees,and intermediaries,thus ensuring a trustworthy contract and safe and secure enforcement.(2)To improve reliability and traceability,BIPTP implements a storage method that combines on-chain and off-chain storage to upload IP transaction records to the blockchain.This solution solves the problem of difficulty in obtaining evidence for the maintenance of IP rights after infringement.It also reduces the storage pressure on the blockchain by storing IPR details in the interstellar file system,thus enhancing the system’s performance.(3)BIPTP also allows right holders and assignees to trade in the alliance blockchain system as alliance members,optimizing the query model,and improving the efficiency of transaction query.A smart contract execution architecture is proposed to reduce transaction execution conflicts and separate the two operations of demand collection and right holder change,ensuring that demand collection and right holder update are efficiently processed asynchronously,thus improving overall system efficiency.Based on the Hyperledger Fabric platform,BIPTP has been built and tested.The experimental results indicate that the platform achieves high throughput and low latency,with a transaction throughput of up to 250 TPS and an average matching latency of about1.9s/transaction for tens of thousands of transactions,with a transaction success rate of over78%.These results demonstrate that the platform significantly improves the credibility and execution efficiency of intellectual property trading,promoting industrial upgrading and informationization transformation of intellectual property trading,and enhancing the trust and participation of all parties involved.
