Under the rapid and deep impact of aging and digitalization,The demand analysis, design and performance evaluation of intelligent technology for the elderly has become a hot spot that more and more researchers pay attention to.At present, more and more researchers are carrying out corresponding research in order to bridge the digital divide for the elderly. However, the interaction and use process of the elderly group with artificial intelligence technology is a complex and diverse socio-technical issue, which is reflected in complex impacts, complex needs, and complex situations. The complexity greatly increases the difficulty of analyzing and assessing the needs, which in turn makes it difficult for a large number of old smart service technologies to play an effective role in real situations.Based on this, this paper uses a multi-disciplinary integration method to carry out research on analysis and efficacy evaluation of artificial intelligence use for the elderly, and guides the design and development of more humanoriented and fair services for the elderly. The main work and contributions of this paper include the following three points:(1)Use demand analysis and design method of smart home for the elderly. The demand for intelligent technology among the elderly is diverse and contextualized. However, the current intelligent technology design for the elderly is mostly based on the compensatory design of the vulnerable characteristics of the elderly and lacks an indepth analysis of the technical needs of the elderly swarm intelligence. We conduct qualitative research that analysis use behavior and influencing factors, taking smart home technology closely related to the elderly population as the entry point.Next, based on the above research conclusions,we construct a demand relationship model for different intelligent technologies and propose a technology design model for intelligent technologies by integrating multiple technology design methods for the elderly. This work provides method suggestions for designing intelligent service technologies for the elderly in the future.(2)Design of the efficacy evaluation model of smart home for the elderly.Current AI technology assessment methods are often based on a relatively ideal laboratory environment. They take technology as the core and pay attention to technical performance indicators such as accuracy and accuracy. However, they lack an evaluation perspective that is centered on the elderly and centered on the actual situation.Based on this,we choose the current smart home technology that is closely related to the elderly as the research context, and combined with previous research,we construct an efficacy evaluation index system for the elderly. Then use the analytic hierarchy process to construct the efficacy evaluation model of the elderly. This effect evaluation model provides support for improving the universality and acceptance of artificial intelligence technology among the elderly population, and promotes bridging the digital divide among the elderly population.(3)Research on the social impact of intelligent technologies for the elderly. While artificial intelligence technology improves productivity and life convenience,it also impacts the existing value system and social order. The social impact it brings will directly be fed back on the acceptance and use of artificial intelligence technology by the elderly, complicating the digital divide among the elderly.Based on this, this paper adopts the PRISMA-based systematic review literature method, and screens out 25 papers for systematic sorting and in-depth analysis.Based on the thematic analysis of 25 papers, the research status of the social impact of artificial intelligence on the elderly is systematically sorted out,and feasible suggestions are provided for the current artificial intelligence technology design, research for bridging the digital divide for the elderly, and future research directions.
