Phased array has great application value in military,civil and other wireless detection and communication fields.How to reduce the cost of phased array has always been a research hotspot.The application of beam forming network(BFN)of coherent radiating periodic structure(CORPS)to phased array can reduce the number of phase shifters and effectively reduce the cost of phased array.In this paper,the low-cost phased array based on CORPS network is studied.The specific research contents are as follows:1.The transmission characteristics and loss of CORPS-BFN for phased array are analyzed,and the relationship between the beam scanning ability of phased array based on CORPS-BFN and the inserted phase difference and the number of network layers is studied,which provides a research basis for the improved design in the following paper.2.A 1/32 mode substrate integrated waveguide(SIW)Gysel power divider is proposed.Using 1/32 mode SIW transmission line,the size of the traditional SIW power divider is greatly reduced.Based on this power divider,a CORPS-BFN is constructed,combined with the QuasiYagi antenna,a 3-element phased array is constructed,and only one phase shifting unit is required to achieve a scanning range of ±14°.It is verified that using CORPS-BFN as the feeding network of the phased array can effectively reduce the number of phase shifting units,but the field of view is limited 。3.A technique for increasing the scanning range of limited field phased array based on power ratio regulation is proposed.The influence of power ratio of power divider on phased array beam scanning ability in CORPS network is analyzed.On this basis,a method of using unequal power divider CORPS-BFN to increase the scanning range is proposed.Two improved CORPS-BFNs working in Sub-6G band are designed,and one-dimensional and twodimensional dual frequency dual circular polarization phased array systems are constructed respectively.The feasibility of improving the scanning ability of limited field of view phased array by adjusting the power ratio is verified.4.A technique for increasing the scanning range of limited field phased array based on partially overlapping subarrays is proposed.Partial overlapping subarrays and sector distributed antenna elements are used to form multiple scanning beams covering different scanning areas,so as to increase the field of view of the whole phased array.Multi area coverage scanning is realized by beam switching,and the radiation array element and feeding network are shared between beams,which reduces the scale of the system.The insertion loss of CORPS network is analyzed.Using switches to replace the first layer power combiner unit of CORPS-BFN can theoretically reduce the insertion loss by 3d B.A 6-element one-dimensional phased array is developed.The phased array can achieve a beam scanning range of more than 45° with only two phase-shifting units.
