| In recent years, the rapid development of new technologies represented by the Internet has led to the continuous evolution of employees’ work forms and characteristics, which has brought new opportunities and challenges to human resource management in enterprises.Especially in the context of the epidemic, millions of employees worldwide are forced to work from home or in other non workplace settings. Many governments around the world also encourage employee groups to work outside of the workplace. The trend of teleworking such as working from home is becoming increasingly evident, and people are paying more attention to the impact of teleworking. What impact will this change in work style have on the work attitude and behavior of the employee group, and whether it will have a positive or negative impact on the implementation of work tasks? This has become an important issue faced by organizations. As a result, research on teleworking and its impact on employees’work attitudes and behavior has gradually attracted academic attention.Based on previous literature research,it can be seen that the academic community has mostly studied the relationship between teleworking and variables such as job satisfaction and job performance, without incorporating individual characteristics into the framework of teleworking analysis. There is a lack of research on the relationship between teleworking and job crafting, and the research on the mechanism of action between teleworking and job crafting also needs to be supplemented and improved. Therefore,it is very important to clarify the concept and connotation of teleworking and study its impact on job crafting. Therefore, based on the social information processing theory, this study explored the relationship between teleworking and job crafting, with self-efficacy as the intermediary and task complexity as the adjustment. This study reviews and combs the existing literature, and comprehensively uses the literature research method and quantitative research method to analyze and process the data of 160 valid questionnaires collected using SPSS 20 version and Mplus 7.0 version, and draws the following conclusions:(1)Teleworking has a positive impact on job crafting;(2)Teleworking has a positive impact on self-efficacy;(3)Self-efficacy has a positive impact on job crafting;(4)Self-efficacy plays an intermediary role in teleworking and job crafting;(5)Task complexity regulates the positive impact of self-efficacy on job crafting. When task complexity is high, the positive impact of self-efficacy on job crafting increases. The theoretical and practical significance of this study is reflected in the following aspects:(1)Based on the theoretical perspective of social information processing, this study broadens the theoretical perspective of research related to teleworking;(2)This study confirms that teleworking has a positive impact on job crafting, and enriches the research on the effect of teleworking as a variable and the antecedents of job crafting;(3)Based on the theory of social information processing, this study takes self-efficacy as the intermediary variable to broaden the research on the influence mechanism of teleworking on job crafting;(4)This study takes task complexity as a moderator variable, expands the boundary conditions for teleworking to play a role, and enriches the research on the moderating role of task complexity. In terms of practical significance, the research conclusions of this study will help organizations:(1)Correctly implement teleworking and improve the attention of organizations and even society to teleworking;(2)Improve the cognition of the influencing factors of job crafting;(3)Better information transmission, and pay more attention to organizational situation, work characteristics and employee characteristics. |
