| In recent years,big data,cloud computing and other technological changes are converging into disruptive forces,which are changing the way we work and live at an astonishing speed,exerting an important influence on all levels of the country,organization and individual.As an important part of big data application,business intelligence provides guidance for business decisions by displaying,analyzing and mining enterprise business data.It is one of the most important systems to release data value,and the industry has a great space for growth.With the deepening of enterprise digital transformation,data-driven analysis and decision scenarios will be everywhere,and business intelligence will be implemented in various industries and business scenarios.In the long run,enterprises will continue to deepen the application of business intelligence,presenting the development trend of digital and intelligent business decision-making.At present,due to the lack of recognition of digital transformation,many enterprises are confused in the process of transformation.On the one hand,many companies are confused about which technologies to prioritize.On the other hand,unable to prove the rationality of technology investment,many enterprises also lack confidence in digitalization.Therefore,this study tries to study the relationship between business intelligence and enterprise organizational performance from a micro perspective,in an attempt to provide ideas for enterprises in the aspect of technology adoption,and enable enterprises to quantify the results of technology investment,so as to regain their confidence in digitalization.This paper carries out research according to the following ideas: business intelligence ability is introduced as an independent variable.At the same time,the intermediate variable business process efficiency is introduced to further study the transmission mechanism between business intelligence capability and organizational performance.By introducing the moderating variable organizational inertia,this paper studies how the interaction between business intelligence capability and organizational inertia affects the business process efficiency of enterprises,and further summarizes and collates the relevant references of business intelligence,enterprise business process efficiency,organizational inertia and organizational performance.Based on dynamic capability theory and organizational inertia theory,this paper establishes business intelligence capability--enterprise business process efficiency--enterprise organizational performance as a whole theoretical framework,and puts forward five hypotheses.Furthermore,a questionnaire survey was conducted on 500 enterprises in Henan Province.Finally,429 valid questionnaires were collected,and empirical tests were carried out on the collected data by Stata and Mplus.The results show that:(1)Business intelligence capability can positively promote the efficiency of enterprise business process;(2)Business process efficiency has a significant positive impact on organizational performance;(3)Business process efficiency plays a mediating role between Business intelligence capability and organizational performance;(4)Organizational inertia has an inverted U-shaped moderating effect on the positive relationship between Business intelligence capability and business process efficiency;(5)Organizational inertia moderates the indirect relationship between Business intelligence capability and organizational performance through business process efficiency.The theoretical contributions of this study are as follows:(1)It makes up for the gaps in the current research on business intelligence and organizational performance,enriches people’s understanding of the“PARADOX of business intelligence” and its mechanism,and explains the impact of business intelligence on organizational performance;(2)By discussing the mediating effect of business process efficiency on Business intelligence capability and enterprise organizational performance,the paper explains the path mechanism of business intelligence capability on enterprise organizational performance from the perspective of business process,which enriches the application of dynamic capability theory.(3)The moderating effect of organizational inertia on business intelligence capability and business process efficiency is verified,and the study of organizational inertia as a moderating variable provides a new idea for the research and application of strategic management theory in business intelligence.The following are the suggestions made by this study for the practice of enterprise digital transformation: In the context of the explosive growth of data volume and the increasingly complex strategic process of enterprises,it is necessary to further improve the business intelligence capability of enterprises,so as to improve the digital level of enterprises.To do this:(1)As the manager of enterprise operation,first of all,we should sort out our own situation,evaluate the existing digital basis,rethink the business model of the enterprise,and really establish the development and integration on the business application scenarios;(2)In the era of information management,business process management software is particularly important in enterprises.By promoting the digitization of enterprise business processes,it helps enterprises standardize process management and promote the effective implementation of business processes.(3)Specific situation analysis,for the establishment of a short period of time,small enterprises,organizational inertia is conducive to the stable and efficient operation of the organization.Due to insufficient data accumulation,imperfect digital infrastructure,insufficient funds,lack of effective experience and other disadvantages,enterprises can build rules and procedures to enhance organizational inertia and provide stable knowledge reserves and resource base for the development of Business intelligence capabilities.For enterprises with large scale and long established time,they should be cautious to avoid falling into the trap of path dependence,and make good use of digital resources of the company to fully transform digital resources into digital capabilities of the enterprise,so as to make them become the core competitiveness of the enterprise. |
