Design Of HIMAC Signaling Protocol Conformance Testing Software Based On System Tester

HINOC(High Performance Network Over Coax)is a New-type Ethernet over Coax access technology,which is under the background of “Triple Play Convergence” and for the requirement of Next Generation Broadcast network.Utilizing the out-of-band cable resource,HINOC implements the highly-efficient multimedia data transmission based on the two-way broadband multi-services.With the proposal of HINOC1.0 protocol,the inter-connection and inter-communication issues among several communication manufactures’ HINOC products need to be solved urgently,the protocol conformance testing provides a guarantee for the inter-connection of the HINOC products.Currently,HINOC1.0 protocol is increasingly improved,while HINOC2.0 protocol is on an important stage of research.Thus,it is important to design and develop protocol conformance testing tools with strong compatibility and scalability.The paper relates to the conformance testing of HINOC MAC protocol testing system.Firstly,according to the theory of conformance testing and the features of HINOC MAC protocol,the conformance testing architecture of HINOC MAC protocol under the testing platform system is proposed,which is provided by the IBM Rational System Tester(hereinafter referred to as the System Tester)based on the TTCN-3testing.According to the proposed conformance testing architecture,particular HINOC Protocol testing script,TRI and TCI interfaces is designed and implemented.Combining with the HINOC testing hardware platform over the embedded development board PXA270,function verification is made for the protocol implementation.Secondly,Based on the basic proposed conformance testing architecture,using TTCN 3 TCI interface,the protocol conformance testing management software is researched.The software simplifies users’ testing operations and provides a full Chinese operation interface.Also,it realizes the test runtime management,test plans,test results,test log analysis,test report generation and other functions.Combining the testing management software with the the TTCN-3 test script,the conformance testing work of HB and HM in HINOC system is completed.
