The concept of whole book reading breaks through the limitations of textbook selection.The whole book reading involves a broader field,cultivates students’ interest and habit of reading,accumulates the experience of reading whole books,gradually finds personal suitable reading methods,and upgrades reading appreciation ability.The whole book reading process is difficult for elementary school students,and teachers need to use tools,methods,and techniques to promote students’ interest and habits in whole book reading.Whole book reading has been promoted in several elementary schools across the country,and these elementary schools have accumulated experience and encountered new obstacles and dilemmas by conducting reading activities according to their own conditions,compiling reading tutorials,and leading elementary students in whole book reading.Therefore,it is necessary to study the experiences of elementary schools in promoting whole-book reading,and to understand what problems have been solved and what problems have not been solved in these experiences.Based on the theoretical perspective of "New Education Experiment",this research explores the general situation of the construction and implementation of the whole book reading curriculum on the basis of curriculum construction and implementation theory.The implementation is discussed as the research object,and the curriculum construction is mainly analyzed from the aspects of curriculum goal setting,curriculum content setting,curriculum activity organization,and curriculum evaluation mechanism.The implementation of the course mainly includes editing school-based teaching materials,implementation of the whole book reading course,and other activities of the whole book reading course.Based on the analysis and discussion of the case,the author summarizes the successful experience of building the whole book reading curriculum under the guidance of the new education experiment,that is,the compiled school-based textbooks lead the reading of the whole book;questions and topics stimulate students’ thinking and inquiry;Students’ reading interest.At the same time,it pays attention to the dilemma of the construction and implementation of the whole book reading curriculum,that is,the evaluation results are not used to adjust and optimize the curriculum,the reading list is not rich enough in subject reading,and there is a lack of scientific methods for evaluating reading ability.Finally,the targeted strategies of "adjusting and optimizing courses based on course evaluation results","enriching subject reading lists and guiding reading" and "establishing scientific evaluation methods for whole book reading" are proposed.
