| Language and words are the most important communication tools and information carriers in human society.The secondary language curriculum aims to guide students to develop independent language training and improve their language application skills according to the actual language use situation.Existing research shows that the language skills of students majoring in early childhood care in secondary vocational schools(referred to as "secondary school" in this paper)are worrying.Language teaching in the language classroom needs to take into account the developmental characteristics of vocational education,highlight the characteristics of the profession and improve students’ language ability.This paper uses empirical research methods such as case study,questionnaire survey and interview to investigate the current situation and major problems of language teaching in a secondary school of early childhood care in Q city(referred to as "Q school" in this paper)from the perspective of cultivating students’ vocational ability and combining our own teaching experience.From the perspective of cultivating students’ language ability,the study aims to explore the language teaching factors that affect students’ language expression and application ability,and further explore the strategies for improving language teaching in the middle-level childcare profession.Taking School Q as an example,the study found that the factors affecting students’ language ability mainly came from both teachers and students.For example,the concept,goal,content,method and evaluation of teaching,as well as students’ existing language level.From the perspective of vocational competence development,language teaching strategies in the language classroom can be improved in the following ways: setting language teaching objectives around vocational characteristics;combining teaching content with vocational competence enhancement;building a framework for language expression with task teaching;using multiple representations to expand language teaching methods;developing "expression-expansion" type writing Training;the use of modern information technology to enrich language teaching methods;establishing a diversified evaluation system based on vocational characteristics;strengthening career penetration and organize language teaching activities,etc.This paper combines the "people-oriented" and "teaching,learning and doing" educational concepts with the requirements of the new curriculum standards,attempts to develop vocational skills from the perspective of teaching practice and students’ learning situations,and follows the laws of language teaching.We try to improve the comprehensive quality and job-seeking competitiveness of middle-level childcare students by leading from the subtleties of language teaching in language classrooms. |
