Bibliometric Visualization Analysis Of Sports Tourism Researc

Sports tourism combines sports competition and tourism culture,satisfying the needs of sports enthusiasts and providing tourists with a new and exciting travel experience.It is one of the most promising areas in the tourism industry.Sports tourism research is also experiencing rapid changes,especially in Western developed countries led by Europe and America,where a large number of research results related to sports tourism have been published,forming a good interaction between theory and practice.It is essential to delve into the archetypal topics of sports tourism research,investigate the most modern hotspots of each era,and forecast the future progress of research in the face of numerous writings.This paper is based on the theories of bibliometrics and scientific knowledge mapping.Using research methods such as literature data analysis,mathematical statistics,logical analysis,bibliometrics,and knowledge mapping,this paper conducted a visual analysis of 1665 sports tourism research papers from the Web of Science Core Collection from 1990 to 2022.This research discussed the spatiotemporal distribution,subject characteristics,research topics,and citation situation of sports tourism research.Sports tourism research can be divided into three stages,from slow start in the early stage,to steady growth in the middle stage,and then to rapid development in the recent stage.By using two different carriers,journals and disciplines,this research divided the knowledge space into regions and determined the academic research base of sports tourism.The research subjects of sports tourism research include authors,institutions,and countries.Based on the analysis of their scale characteristics,this paper conducted co-occurrence analysis of cooperation modes.By analyzing the frequency,co-occurrence,evolution,and clustering of keywords,this research grasped the hot topics and cutting-edge trends of sports tourism.By examining literature co-citation,author co-citation,and journal co-citation,this essay delves into the relationship between inheritance and the development of sports tourism research,explores the theoretical basis,academic pioneers,and distribution of knowledge sources.This essay,based on a review of foreign sports tourism research,conducted a comparative analysis between domestic and foreign studies,delved into the distinctions and qualities of domestic and foreign sports tourism research,and proposed ideas for furthering domestic sports tourism research: augmenting the theoretical framework and optimize the overall cognition;establish theme journals and create scientific research bases;improve the training mechanism and reserve scientific research talents;integrate multiple perspectives and expand the depth and breadth;break through the inherent thinking and clarify the disciplinary positioning;introduce high-quality research and achieve high-level internationalization.
