| Children approaches toward learning has great value to early childhood school preparation,academic achievement and future lifelong development.However,in terms of the current situation,the development of early children approaches toward learning is not high overall level and unbalanced development,so it is urgent to find the key way to effectively improve the quality of early childhood learning.Teachers are "important others" that affect children’s development.The influence of teacher leadership and self-efficacy on education quality,children’s learning and development,has been proved by relevant studies,but whether they have an impact on children approaches toward learning needs to be further explored.Based on the above considerations,608 children and 160 corresponding class teachers(from 9 kindergartens)were selected from different regions of Shanghai in this study by convenient sampling method.The data of children approaches toward learning,teacher leadership and teacher self-efficacy were obtained by using three tools: Preschool learning behaviors scale,Teacher leadership scale and Teacher self-efficacy scale.Through correlation analysis,regression analysis and mediation effect test,the following conclusions are drawn:(1)Teacher leadership can positively predict their self-efficacy.Specifically,teacher leadership in school decision-making,promoting school diversity and continuous improvement can positively predict teacher class management efficacy and teaching strategy efficacy.Teacher leadership in teaching and professional development,promoting school diversity and continuous improvement can positively predict teacher student engagement efficacy;(2)Teacher leadership can positively predict children approaches toward learning.Specifically,teacher leadership in school decision-making can positively predict children ability motivation,teacher leadership in teaching and professional development can positively predict children ability motivation,attention/persistence and learning strategies;(3)Teacher self-efficacy can positively predict children approaches toward learning.Specifically,teacher student engagement efficacy can positively predict children ability motivation,teacher class management efficacy can positively predict children attention/persistence;(4)Although teacher self-efficacy does not play an mediating role in the relationship between teacher leadership and children approaches toward learning,this study finds that teacher self-efficacy plays a partial mediating role in the relationship between teacher leadership in teaching and professional development and children approaches toward learning,also in the relationship between teacher leadership in school decision-making and children approaches toward learning.It plays a completely mediating role in the relationship between teacher leadership in promoting diversity and continuous improvement and children approaches toward learning.Based on the above research conclusions,the researcher put forward three educational suggestions that can effectively improve teacher leadership and self-efficacy to cultivate children approaches toward learning,so as to provide references for relevant subjects:(1)Kindergarten should implement support oriented development model to enhance teacher leadership;(2)Kindergarten should strengthen the teacher professional learning community construction to improve their self-efficacy;(3)Teachers should actively change their role orientation and pay attention to the construction of leadership. |
