Forgiveness Status And Intervention Of Junior High School Student

Forgiveness,as one of the important topics of positive psychology,is being paid more and more attention in the field of psychology.Forgiveness is such a process that an individual changes his/her negative cognitive,emotional and behavioral response to the offender into a positive cognitive,emotional and behavioral response after being hurt.Based on heartland forgiveness scale compiled by Thompson et al in 2005,its applicability to Chinese junior middle school students was explored in the present research.Then,the structure of Chinese junior middle school students’ forgiveness was discovered as well as it’s development were.According to Enright’s forgiveness intervention model,a group counseling program was designed to promote junior middle school students with low forgiveness level.The results are as follows.1.The revised Heartland Forgiveness Scale has high reliability and validity,and is suitable for exploring the forgiveness level of junior middle school students in China.Based on the exploratory factor analysis and confirmatory factor analysis of heartland Forgiveness Scale,the forgiveness of junior middle school students in China is the multi-structure,consisting of forgiving self,blaming self,blaming others and forgiving others and situations.2.Generally speaking,the forgiveness of junior middle school students is in good condition which is at a medium level.3.There are no significant grade differences in forgiveness among junior middle school students(p>0.05).4.There are gender differences in forgiveness of junior middle school students.About the total scale,there were significant gender differences in forgiveness of junior middle school students(p<0.05),and there were also significant gender differences in forgiveness of others and situation,forgiveness of self and blaming self subscales(p<0.05).5.Group counseling based on general forgiveness intervention model can improve the forgiveness level of junior middle school students.
