Academic emotion refers to all kinds of emotions related to study produced by students in the process of learning, which almost contains all emotional experience produced by students in the process of learning.Academic emotions not only affect students’ academic performance, but also affect their mental health level and social behavior development. This paper mainly uses the questionnaire survey method, interview method and experimental method to explore the academic mood of primary school students. The adolescents’ Academic Emotion Questionnaire compiled by Yu Guoliang and Dong Yan(2007)was used to measure the fifth grade pupils of Minzu Primary School in Yongding District,Zhangjiajie city.It is found that there is a significant difference in the academic emotions of fifth grade students in gender, male positive academic emotions are higher than female, negative academic emotions are lower than female. There is no significant difference in the academic mood of the fifth grade students in the dimension of being the only child or not;In terms of family income, pupils from low-income families are more likely to experience negative academic emotions. In this paper, two fifth-grade classes in Zhangjiajie Minzu Primary School were selected as the experimental class and the control class, and a two-month intervention experiment was carried out on the students in the experimental class by using the self-designed "group psychological counseling program" in line with the psychological characteristics of primary school students,so as to investigate the influence of group psychological counseling on the academic mood of primary school students.Research shows that the intervention of group psychological counseling plays an effective role in improving primary school students’ academic mood:First, after the intervention, students in the experimental class scored significantly higher in positive high arousal dimensions and positive low arousal dimensions than those in the control class; The score of negative high arousal dimension and negative low arousal dimension was significantly lower than that of the control class.Second, the scores of pride, happiness and hope in the positive high arousal dimension of academic emotion in the experimental class were significantly higher than those in the control class. The scores of satisfaction, calmness and relaxation in positive low arousal dimension were significantly higher than those of control class. In the aspect of negative high arousal, students in the experimental class scored significantly lower in shame and anger than those in the control class, but there was no significant difference in anxiety. In terms of negative and low arousal emotions, students in the experimental class scored significantly lower than those in the control class in the dimensions of boredom and helplessness, and there was no significant difference in the scores in the dimensions of frustration and upset. Therefore, group psychological counseling has played an effective role in improving the fifth grade pupils’ negative academic mood,it plays a positive role in improving pupils’ autonomous learning ability, promoting the development of positive academic emotion, and helping them adapt to study and social life.
