| The structure of city has been changed by the actions of delivery riders.This study analyses the delivering process of riders in the perspective of mediation,focusing on “fluid structure”constructed by delivery riders and electric vehicle.In other words,it pays attention to the social cultural relations with delivery riders riding on the road.This study suggests food service platforms have the fluid feature,which can be regarded as “mediation”.Delivery riders play an important role during the operation of the system.This study proposes that the basis of “mediation” of platforms is to become fluid waiters/waitress for delivery riders.“Equipment upgrading” of infrastructure,learning delivery map: achieving mental map,work gamification: improving the ability of delivery are the three basic conditions for delivery riders.In addition,riders act on the road through time service,after-sales service and body embedding.In terms of time service,the practice of riders is reshaped by kairos of time form,structuring of time service and circulation of delivery structure.Facing consumers,riders mainly complete their service practice through the body transfer of service function,the scene transformation of service context and the outdoor mobility of service mode.Further,in the process of delivering meals,body becomes technical body.Meanwhile,logical mind should be used to plan the delivery practice so that the mobility online and offline of riders goes well.Overall,social time has become the essential symbol of delivering meals.Riders is sewing time and space,which is the product of social reproduction in the process of practice.And bodies of riders have become a type of media and sign.In a word,Internet ordering life can be regarded as the social embedding of "time service" of fluid “waiter/waitress” to a certain extent.When riders are embedded in the system,they need to sew time and space playing as a waiter/waitress and make full use of their bodies. |
