Research And Design Of Visual Complexity Assessment For Children’s Picture Book Websites

With the continuous development of science and technology,electronic children’s books have become a common trend.Compared with traditional paper books,electronic picture books are more interactive,intuitive and interesting.Children on the market of electronic picture books the number of applications in recent years has been obviously rising trend,but focus on children’s thinking ability training,at the same time will be children’s thinking ability of electronic picture books to read and review+feedback effective combination of online product are still blue ocean stage,we will design as a breakthrough point for children’s picture books product design evaluation website.However,there are few researches on the design criteria of children’s interface,especially the visual complexity of the interface,and there is no theoretical basis for direct reference.Therefore,this paper will carry out the interface design of children’s picture book evaluation website based on the research on the visual complexity of children’s interface.On the basis of combing and learning previous studies on visual complexity,two preliminary experiments were conducted by observation method and interview method to obtain certain subjective judgment basis.On this basis,a formal evaluation experiment of children’s interface complexity was conducted by evaluation experiment method.Fifteen children were recruited to explore the relationship between visual complexity of the interface and children’s preference through the interface browsing task and complexity assessment scale,so as to get which level of interface complexity children prefer.The experimental results finally resulted in a left-leaning inverted "U" curve.It shows that children are more suitable for medium and low complexity interfaces,which can guide the interface design of children’s picture book evaluation websites in the future,so as to achieve the bi-directional balance between interface design and functional design of the website.Under the premise of following the medium and low visual complexity design,the final design of the children’s picture book evaluation website of "Picture Interest" realizes the design of four main functional modules of picture book recommendation,picture book reading,picture book evaluation and evaluation feedback report,and tries to realize the combination of teaching and fun,so that children can play in learning and learn through playing.With the help of excellent picture books to promote children’s all-round development of the original mind.
