Evaluation Of The Integration Efficiency Of Sports And Tourism Industry In China And Analysis Of Its Influencing Factors

In the new era,Chinese economic development mode has shifted from scale and speed to quality and efficiency.Vigorously developing the tertiary industry is a new engine for driving economic development,and industrial integration has become an important breakthrough for industrial transformation and upgrading and high-quality economic development.The strong correlation and driving force of the tourism industry and the universality of assets inherent in the sports industry have become important driving forces for promoting industrial integration.There are obvious homogeneity and correlation between sports industry and tourism industry,and the integration of sports and tourism has promoted the diversified development and quality and efficiency enhancement of the two industries,becoming a new strategic support point for the high-quality development of China’s sports and tourism industries.However,industrial integration cannot only pursue scale and speed,but also focus on enhancing the quality of development.In this context,it is necessary to fully understand the efficiency and influencing factors of Chinese sports and tourism integration,and attempt to promote the development of deeper sports and tourism integration through quantitative research.Based on the input-output perspective,this paper constructs an evaluation index system for the efficiency of sports and tourism integration,the Benevolent Cross Efficiency DEA is used to measure the mutual promotion efficiency of sports and tourism industries in 31 provinces(cities,autonomous regions)in China from 2013 to 2020.And based on this,the efficiency of sports and tourism integration is obtained,and the characteristics of temporal evolution and regional distribution are analyzed.At the same time,the efficiency of sports and tourism integration in 31 provinces(cities,autonomous regions)in 2019 was taken as a result variable,and six indicators,including policy support,industrial structure,transportation conditions,economic development,opening-up,and technological information,were selected as the conditional variables.The fuzzy set qualitative comparative analysis(fsQCA)method was used for configuration analysis to explore the configuration path for high(non high)efficiency in sports and tourism integration,the research conclusions and recommendations are as follows:(1)From the perspective of time series,the average efficiency of Chinese sports and tourism integration has been fluctuating repeatedly between 0.30 and 0.38 from 2013 to2020,the overall level of integration efficiency is not high and the fluctuation range is small.Within the research range,the average promotion efficiency of Chinese sports industry to the tourism industry fluctuates between 0.42-0.57,while the average promotion efficiency of the tourism industry to the sports industry fluctuates between 0.37-0.54.Overall,the development of the sports industry lags behind the tourism industry,and the integrated development of sports and tourism is mainly manifested in the driving role of the tourism industry to the sports industry.(2)From the perspective of regional distribution characteristics,there are significant regional differences in the efficiency level of Chinese sports and tourism industry integration with insufficient balance.From 2013 to 2020,more than half of the provinces in terms of the average efficiency of sports and tourism integration were lower than the national average,and presented a spatial distribution characteristic of "eastern-centralwestern" efficiency decline.The eastern region has a high level of economic development,complete infrastructure construction,and a high overall efficiency level;However,the western region has benefited from favorable policies,rich sports tourism resources,and distinct ethnic characteristics.The overall growth rate of the efficiency of sports tourism integration is characterized by a " western-central-eastern " decline.(3)From the perspective of the configuration analysis of fsQCA,the efficiency of sports and tourism integration is the result of the aggregation of multiple factors,resulting in a total of 2 efficient interpretation paths and 3 non efficient interpretation paths.Policy support,industrial structure,transportation conditions,opening up,and their combination methods are key factors that generate regional differences,among which policy support plays a core driving role in the configuration path.Based on the above research conclusions,suggestions are proposed to promote the in-depth integration and development of China’s sports and tourism industries.Firstly,the integration and development of sports and tourism emphasize top-level design,and the construction of a new management system should be accelerated to improve the classification and statistical work of the two industries;Secondly,completing the weaknesses in industrial development,promoting the integration of the sports industry into the tourism industry;Thirdly,around the configuration idea,form a "1+N" development model led by the government,and promote high-quality development of Chinese sports and tourism integration according to local conditions.
