Patriotism is the core and central embodiment of the spirit of the Chinese nation.As the largest minority region in China,Xinjiang faces great challenges in patriotism education for high school students under its special geographical location and complex environment.How to guide students to establish correct three views and inspire their heartfelt patriotic enthusiasm is a direction that ideology and politics teachers and schools need to think and work on.Schools are the main front for cultivating patriotism.To strengthen patriotism education,the seeds of patriotism should be deeply rooted in the hearts of students,so that students can truly feel the prosperity and strength of the motherland,deeply appreciate the superiority of the socialist system with Chinese characteristics,experience the pride and happiness of living in the new era,so that students can consciously do students will be able to consciously practice the core values of socialism.This paper takes teachers and students in secondary schools in Xinjiang region as the research object,analyses data from the questionnaire survey results,identifies the problems of implementing patriotic education in secondary school ideology and politics classes in Xinjiang region and its causes,and tries to make scientific solutions to the existing problems.Specifically,the first part defines the relevant concepts of patriotic education,analyses the theoretical basis of patriotic education,and reveals the content and significance of incorporating patriotic education into the ideological and political classes of secondary schools in the Xinjiang region.The second part try to analyses the current situation.Firstly,it develops the situation of questionnaires and interviews,and concludes through data analysis that patriotism education in secondary school ideology and politics classes in Xinjiang region has been effective: most students have a correct understanding,deep emotions and rational behaviour towards patriotism.Secondly,the main problems are analyzed:there is a tendency to test-oriented patriotism education goals;the education content is monotonous and lacks relevance;the education method is single and lacks attraction;the patriotism education bureau is limited to the classroom and lacks practicality.Again,the reasons for the problems are pointed out: the core content of patriotic education is not prominent enough;ethnic students have a strong sense of small groups,which is not conducive to the development of patriotic education;and the influence of exam-oriented education and traditional classroom teaching.last part,the countermeasures to solve the problems are proposed: establishing practical patriotic education goals;digging deeper into local resources in Xinjiang to enrich patriotic education contents;exploring ways and methods suitable for patriotic education in Xinjiang;using practice as a carrier to expand patriotic education channels.
