The "2017 Edition of the Curriculum Standards for High School Fine Arts" for the first time includes image reading,artistic expression,aesthetic judgment,creative practice,and cultural understanding as the five core competencies of high school fine arts,marking the entry of the era of core competencies in high school fine arts courses.On the basis of cultivating students’ core literacy,the teaching purpose of high school art appreciation courses is no longer just to impart knowledge of appreciating art works to students,but more to focus on improving students’ overall aesthetic literacy.In the past high school art appreciation classes,due to the high learning pressure of students,the importance of art courses was not fully understood,and some teachers had insufficient creative understanding of this course.The teaching method was relatively single,resulting in a certain gap between the actual teaching effect of high school art appreciation classes and the new curriculum standards.By studying the teaching theories related to topic based teaching,I believe that topic based teaching can be applied to high school art appreciation classes.In the actual teaching process,connect the teaching content with social life and transform it into a "topic" form of exploration activities.Debate individually or in groups,participate in topic activities during the completion of teaching tasks,and achieve the teaching objectives of this course.Through this approach,students’ initiative and enthusiasm in the learning process can be fully stimulated,their awareness of cooperative exploration can be cultivated,their critical thinking ability can be exercised,and the curriculum task of cultivating core competencies in high school art appreciation can be completed.The main content of this study is to connect advanced teaching theories with high school art appreciation courses,cultivate students’ sense of cooperation and thinking ability,and help them understand the profound significance contained in classic art works.Firstly,this study addresses the issue of "what is topic based teaching" by defining the concept and characteristics of topic based teaching.Secondly,by exploring the theoretical basis for the application of topic based teaching in high school art appreciation courses,the adaptability and feasibility of topic based teaching methods are elucidated,and the value of topic based teaching in high school art appreciation courses is summarized to solve the problem of "why topic based teaching is carried out".Once again,based on relevant teaching theories,design implementation strategies for topic based teaching in three aspects: setting topics,implementing teaching,and evaluating analysis.Finally,based on the implementation strategy,plan the teaching development and implementation process of applying topic based teaching to high school art appreciation courses,and select the course "Communication and Inheritance-Art Evolution in the Collision of Eastern and Western Cultures" from Unit 6 of the Art Appreciation Module of People’s Fine Arts Publishing House as the theme one and Unit 2 as the theme three "Reality and Ideal-Western Classical Painting" to construct the teaching process,and carry out teaching practice and application research.
