Due to the impact of exam-oriented education, primary school students nowadays are facing health problems such as obesity, poor development, and insufficient sleep,as well as psychological issues such as lack of attention, aversion to learning, and low self-efficacy.Therefore,the physical and mental health of young people has become the focus of attention of the government, schools, and various sectors of society.Education needs to be conducted from the perspective of comprehensive development. While learning is undoubtedly important as the primary task of contemporary students, physical and mental health should not be neglected. The movement integration curriculum is a new type of curriculum that combines physical activities with disciplinary knowledge.Domestic and foreign studies have shown that this integrated teaching form not only reduces sedentary behavior and enhances physical fitness, but also has a positive effect on academic achievement and self-efficacy.The importance of the integrated curriculum of physical and intellectual activities in teaching is becoming increasingly evident, arousing widespread attention among academics. There are few domestic studies on the movement integration curriculum, and more are language teaching combined with embodied cognitive theory. So far, there has been no comprehensive study on the combination of embodied cognition theory and moderate physical activity in improving Chinese literacy and self-efficacy.Therefore,this experiment aims to verify the positive effects of the movement integration curriculum on Chinese literacy and self-efficacy through the teaching experiment of movement integration curriculum in Chinese language, and to explore whether the retention of literacy is more effective than traditional Chinese language teaching methods, laying a theoretical foundation for the reform of teaching models in the future.Based on domestic and foreign studies of the movement integration curriculum, this article extensively reviewed, collected, and organized relevant theories. On the basis of previous research, combined with the current third-grade Chinese language teaching work and practice, and incorporating the embodied cognition theory,a curriculum of movement integration was designed. Its purpose is to improve students’ academic achievement while enhancing their self-efficacy and promoting their physical and mental health. This study examined the impact of the movement integration curriculum in Chinese language on self-efficacy and Chinese literacy accuracy through pre-and post-tests of the experimental and control groups. The research subjects were two third-grade classes in a primary school in Xiaoshan District,Hangzhou. One class was randomly selected as the experimental group and taught with the movement integration curriculum in Chinese language, while the other class was taught with conventional Chinese language classes, and a one-month experimental intervention was conducted. The results showed that there was no significant difference between the experimental and control groups in Chinese literacy accuracy and self-efficacy before the intervention. After the intervention, the Chinese literacy accuracy of both groups improved significantly, and the improvement effect of the experimental group was consistently higher than that of the control group. The self-efficacy of the experimental group improved significantly after the intervention, while there was no significant change in the control group.Based on the above research, the following main conclusions can be drawn:(1)The movement integration curriculum in Chinese language can effectively improve students’ literacy accuracy, and its improvement effect is significantly higher than that of the control group.(2)The movement integration curriculum in Chinese language can improve students’ self-efficacy,while there is no significant change in the self-efficacy of the control group before and after the intervention.(3)The movement integration curriculum in Chinese language has a certain maintaining effect on students’ literacy accuracy.
