| Based on previous research, this study focuses on the issues of declining physical fitness, mental health, and lack of interest in learning among high school students. It explores the impact of using functional physical games in teaching and proposes relevant suggestions for enhancing the physical and mental fitness of high school students. The study involved 46 high school physical education students and employed literature review, mathematical statistics, questionnaire surveys, and experimental methods. The experimental group, consisting of the 46 students, received guidance in functional physical activity games during an 8-week comparative experiment.Meanwhile, the control group received traditional physical education instruction. The data obtained from the research were analyzed to draw reliable conclusions regarding the effects of the two teaching methods on the physical and mental fitness of high school students. The research findings are as follows:After 8 weeks of intervention, there were significant differences in physical fitness test indicators between the experimental and control groups.Regarding mental fitness, there were no significant differences in the influencing factors between the two groups. However, there were significant differences in anxiety and learning pressure, while there were no significant differences in impulsivity scores between the two groups.Conclusion:(1)Incorporating functional physical games into teaching can significantly improve students’ physical fitness. It effectively enhances cardiorespiratory endurance, strengthens upper and lower limb strength, improves core strength, enhances flexibility and speed of movement, and improves physical fitness from multiple dimensions.(2)From a psychological perspective,it can alleviate learning pressure and emotional problems, reduce negative emotions such as depression and anxiety, promote students’ socialization, strengthen cooperation between schools and families, and foster a fair, joyful, and relaxed teaching atmosphere for students. |
