As one of the hot issues in mathematics education,mathematical culture has received widespread attention from scholars.Utilizing the methods of literature research,text analysis,comparative research and case analysis,this dissertation compares and studies the mathematical culture content in the Chinese representative primary school mathematics textbooks,such as the People’s Education Edition,the Jiangsu Education Edition and the Beijing Normal University Edition.We deeply understand the infiltration of mathematical culture in textbooks through comparative analysis and provide the compilation suggestions and mathematical culture material for the primary school mathematical textbooks.In theory,this dissertation improves the comparative framework of mathematical culture in textbooks and enriches the comparative research content of mathematical culture.In practice,it provides excellent mathematical culture material,helping teachers to permeate mathematical culture in teaching more effectively.The dissertation conducts qualitative and quantitative research on the three versions of textbooks from both macro and micro perspectives.Firstly,this dissertation makes statistical analysis of the types,application level and function of mathematical culture in the three editions of textbooks.Secondly,this dissertation analyzes typical cases of different mathematical culture types selected from the three versions.Finally,we can obtain the following conclusions:(1)In terms of type,real life content is the most involved in the three editions of textbooks,followed by science and technology,humanities and art,mathematical history and mathematical games are less involved.People’s Education Edition and Jiangsu Education Edition are similar in distribution of various types.(2)In terms of application level,the application level of mathematical history in the three editions of textbooks is mainly additional type,while the application level of other four types of mathematical culture is mainly separable type.In general,the application level of mathematical culture in the Beijing Normal University edition is the highest,followed by the People’s Education edition and the Jiangsu Education edition is the lowest.(3)In terms of function,the three versions of textbooks mainly provide applied situations,followed by background situations,less involved are expanding mathematical thinking and methods and promoting the integration of mathematics and culture.Jiangsu Education Edition has the strongest functionality of mathematical culture,followed by the People’s Education Edition and the Beijing Normal University Edition is the weakest.The dissertation proposes the following compilation suggestions for the primary school mathematics textbooks:(1)Using higher level of mathematical culture can improve the relevance of mathematical cultural content and mathematical knowledge.(2)Embodying more comprehensive function of mathematical culture can improve students’ mathematical core competency.(3)Balancing the types of mathematical culture can enrich the kinds of mathematical culture content.For instance,We can explore the relevant content of mathematical history.We can infiltrate the content of excellent traditional Chinese mathematical culture.Increasing interdisciplinary knowledge can promote interdisciplinary integration.Increasing the proportion of mathematics and art makes students experience mathematical beauty.Increasing the content of mathematics and technology can understand the scientific value of mathematics.Based on the above suggestions and typical case analysis,this dissertation provide mathematical culture material from the types of mathematical culture(the history of mathematics,mathematics and life,mathematics and technology,mathematics and art,mathematical game),such as:(1)the history of mathematics: thematic learning on the Mobius band.(2)mathematics and life: garbage classification,electronic commerce,Paralympic Games.(3)mathematics and technology: artificial intelligence,laser technique,genetically modified food,new energy technology,Beidou Navigation Satellite System.(4)mathematics and art:embroidery,thematic learning on the golden ratio.(5)mathematical game: black hole number,crossword game.
