Research On High School Biology Teaching Cases Under STEAM Concept

Abstract/Summary:
The application of STEAM concept to biology teaching is an efficient teaching method to cultivate students’ core quality of biology,and has a great effect on the cultivation of students’ comprehensive ability.At the same time,STEAM concept is in line with the requirements of high school biology curriculum reform and meets the need for high-quality talents in the new era.However,most of the researches only remain at the level of theoretical analysis and application methods of STEAM concept,and relatively few researches combine STEAM concept with subject teaching.The strategic influence of STEAM concept in China’s public education system is always insignificant.Therefore,the case study of high school biology teaching under STEAM concept is carried out to promote the further integration of STEAM concept and biology teaching and lay the foundation for the localization of STEAM education.In this study,literature research,questionnaire survey and case study were used to study the application,implementation methods and specific cases of STEAM concept in high school biology teaching.The survey found that students have the need to participate in STEAM practical courses and the front-line teachers agree that STEAM concept plays an important role in high school biology teaching.On the basis of full investigation,this study,which is based on o ’clock of average high school textbooks,with systematic and situational type and interdisciplinary thought in practice to develop and implement the idea into the STEAM of high school biology teaching case "something about me and yeast",introduced how to surrounding biology subject core literacy training,highlight the biology characteristic of teaching of the subject Combined with high school biology classroom teaching practice,flexible use of STEAM ideas and methods,scientific design of STEAM integration teaching program.Through 3 teaching topics and 6 teaching links,students can be motivated to learn,master the concept of biology,improve learning efficiency,cultivate students’ practical ability and innovation ability,and promote the development of students’ effective thinking ability.Topic 1: Getting acquainted with "bacteria" Introduced the microscope,an important tool for studying yeast,and the position of yeast in the biological world,so that students had a preliminary understanding of yeast.The second topic is to know about "bacteria" so that students can deeply understand the microscopic structure of yeast cells in the process of model making and perceive the changes of yeast population from a macro perspective.The third topic,"Where to Live",mainly involves the application of yeast,including the production of steamed bread and fruit wine and fruit vinegar.In this way,the teaching of yeast related knowledge is carried out from the superficial to the profound.In the implementation of cases,diagnostic evaluation,process evaluation and summative evaluation were used to understand and grasp the learning situation of students.Generally speaking,students’ problem-solving ability and scientific inquiry awareness were improved.Moreover,in the process of self-reflection,teachers found that there were still problems in teaching implementation,such as short practice cycle,poor content organization,limited personal ability and insufficient after-class guidance.In view of these problems,some solutions were put forward in order to make improvements in the subsequent teaching research.From case implementation,evaluation and reflection on the results,this study involves the integration of various subjects,various learning methods of overlapping,transformation of different learning environment,science,technology,engineering,art,and five elements in the implementation of teaching mathematics fully blend,is no longer the boundaries between different disciplines,these deep learning for the students lay a solid foundation,It also verified the value of STEAM concept in high school biology teaching,enhanced the influence of STEAM concept among front-line teachers,improved the practicality of STEAM concept in subject teaching,promoted the further integration of STEAM concept and biology teaching,and provided a study case with reference value for the majority of educators.
