Currently,“Literacy-oriented” is the direction of educational evaluation reform.Experiments explore ability of biology is an important part of the scientific explore literacy of biology, and also an important content of the key ability of biology. The research on the evaluation of experiments explore ability of biology is helpful to realize the examination of the key ability of biology and the implementation of core literacy. This research is devoted to explore the research of setting of senior high school biology test questions pointing to experiments explore ability.Firstly, based on the Primary Trait Analysis and SOLO Theory, and based on the content of biology curriculum standards, the evaluation model of senior high school biology test questions pointing to experiments explore ability is constructed in preliminarily. This research also uses the questionnaire survey to find out the teachers’ approval of the evaluation model, and revise the evaluation model according to the survey results.Secondly, the evaluation model is used to analyze the biology experimental explore ability test questions of college entrance examination in Beijing,Tianjin in 2017-2021.And then this research raises the test-setting strategy to examine each level of experiments explore ability of biology from two aspects: the test-setting requirements and the question-setting paradigm.Finally,10 test questions were setted by using the test-setting strategy. After revision, the test questions were tested in middle schools.Based on Item Response Theory, the test data were fitted by Rasch model. The final results showed that the overall quality of the test questions was good, which validates the validity and feasibility of the evaluation model and the test-setting strategy. The evaluation model includes four levels of the experiments explore ability of biology, five elements of ability(the ability to raise questions, the ability to make hypotheses, the ability to make and implement experimental plans, the ability to analyze and demonstrate, the ability to evaluate and reflect),a total of 16 evaluations.Besides, this research also proposes the following test-setting strategy to examine each level of experiments explore ability of biology:(1)The level 1 requires based on the experiment of textbook, simplifying the expression of questions and information presentation. The question-setting around the identification of purpose or principle, the application of basic operation skills, the selection of materials or instruments and the description of results in the simple experimental situation.(2)The level 2 requires good situation structure and diversified information. The question-setting around the raise of question or hypothesis, the brief statement of purpose or principle, the choice of step or plan, the brief statement of conclusion or the supplement of support conclusion evidence in the simple experimental situation.(3)The level 3 requires increasing the thinking chains and creating the real situation. The question-setting around the raise of question, the supplement of hypothesis or hypothesis basis, the explanation of purpose or principle, the establishment of part of the plan, the explanation of conclusion or cause of result or evidence supporting the conclusion, the evaluation of the procedure and conclusion in the complex experimental situation.(4)The level 4 requires containing abstract essence and setting novel situation. The question-setting around the raise of practice-related questions, the explanation of hypothesis or hypothesis basis, the establishment of whole plan, the prediction of results or the revelation of cause of result in new situation, the evaluation of whole plan in the complex experimental situation.
