In response to the phenomena of fragmentation,superficiality and mechanization in teaching,the Backward Design led by Essential Questions take the Big Ideas as the overall leader and the Essential Questions as the focus,which can realize the touch of knowledge and promote students’ deep understanding of knowledge.This study compares existing research findings on the Essential Questions,the Backward Design,Function Monotonicity and Derivative in high school,Unit Instructional Design and the Elaboration Theory.Based on the results of the survey,the Essential Questions of Function,Geometry and Algebra were designed under the guidance of the Essential Questions.Guided by the Backward Design and the Essential Questions theory,the teaching ideas of the unit were constructed.The case study and action research method were adopted to write three key lesson designs or cases for the unit content of Function Monotonicity and Derivative: "The Concept of Function Monotonicity","Application of Derivative in the Study of Function-Function Monotonicity","Integrated Application of Function Monotonicity and Derivative".The Essential Questions with the topic of function are(1)What is a function?(2)What are some aspects of functions that we can look at to understand their properties? Which one do you think can be the core property? Why?The Essential Questions with the topic of geometry and algebra are(1)What are the ideas of the integrated geometric method and the vector method to study the properties of graphs? How to choose the method according to the actual situation?(2)What is the idea of "expansion of number system" ?(3)What are the ways in which geometry and algebra can be linked together? Please give examples.Teaching ideas of the unit:(1)Analyze teaching elements and the Essential Questions;(2)Decompose unit objectives and divide learning strata;(3)Refine the Essential Questions and select key lessons;(4)Form Basic Ideas and set continuous assessment;(5)Synthesize students’ cognition and determine learning sequence;(6)Design specific lessons and carry out effective teaching;(7)Improve the instructional design by incorporating the experts’ suggestions. |
