"Li Siguang Prophecy":Time And Space Flow And Meaning Construction Of A "Diving Rumor"

At present,China is in the period of economic and social transformation.Under the structural oppression such as resource oppression,pollution,employment development oppression,the gap between the rich and the poor,and the imperfect medical and health system,the keen nervous system of Chinese citizens is also very vulnerable to trigger events.At the same time,the uncertainty of the objective world and the limitation of human rational experience,and the rumors often associated with risks,have increasingly become the normal existence of human society.Since 2005,scholars at home and abroad have regarded collective memory as one of the social cognitive factors and driving forces of rumors from the perspective of paying equal attention to time and space.Rumor is a kind of narrative,which is related to collective memory.First,each rumor itself is a narrative text of daily life practice.Second,each specific rumor process is a discourse process.Third,similar rumor exists in a more macro human discourse process,which belongs to a more macro human narrative.Diving rumors that appear repeatedly in different periods are often closely related to sudden major disasters or crisis events with special context.Earthquake rumors,which are more likely to arouse people’s dual attention from material to spiritual,often form a powerful information vortex and coerce people in panic,anxiety,expectation and other emotions.More famous earthquake events such as Shanxi,Anhui also occurred in other parts of the country.When it was serious,thousands of people gathered in the square to hide from the earthquake on a rainy night in some cities and towns.Tens of thousands of urban and rural people rushed to buy plastic shed cloth and build shockproof sheds.Some people went away to other places to avoid the earthquake.On the basis of previous studies,taking the rumor of "Li Siguang’s prediction" as an example,through the combination of empirical research and theoretical research,this paper aims at the data collected from the relevant earthquake rumors in 1976(Tangshan earthquake)and 1980-2000,integrates the in-depth interview data in 2010,captures the message reply data on the official websites of China Seismological Bureau and Fujian Seismological Bureau and the relevant data of "Li Siguang’s prediction" in microblog with the help of Python software,Based on the text analysis of rumor events,this paper discusses the construction process and significance of this kind of diving rumor from the perspective of narratology,and then summarizes the narrative strategy and discourse construction process of rumor text from the perspective of discourse analysis,makes a dual interpretation of the propagation process and reasons of diving rumor across time and space,and the process of being refuted,and gives suggestions on the current governance strategy of diving rumor.The core question this study attempts to answer is: Why did the diving rumor "predicted by Li Siguang" spread repeatedly? And three questions are derived: 1)what is the narrative performance of the diving rumor? 2)What are the circumstances and characteristics of the diving rumor spread? 3)How is the rumor refutation text narrated?What are the improvement strategies?...
