| The rise of the internet,artificial intelligence and big data has promoted the rapid development of programming education in China.Programming education also occupies an important position in China’s education.The document issued by the State Council in 2017 clearly states that it requires the Ministry of Education to vigorously promote and popularize programming education at the primary and secondary school levels in China.The general objectives of the elementary school science curriculum propose diversified educational goals.In order to achieve the diversification of science education goals,we have to cross disciplinary boundaries and achieve curriculum integration.In the era of comprehensive implementation of quality education,the crossover and integrated application of various disciplines and different types of knowledge has always been the main goal in the direction of our development in the field of education.The interdisciplinary integration of elementary school science curriculum and programming curriculum has become an inevitable trend of the times.Scratch,as a tool for programming curriculum,adopts a block-based programming approach,which is fun and easy to operate.It may better help students to develop computational thinking and innovative abilities.Therefore,this paper chooses Scratch programming curriculum integrated elementary school science under the interdisciplinary concept to cultivate students’ programming literacy and scientific literacy.In recent years,many educational scholars in China have focused on the research of integrating programming education with other disciplines,but there is a relative lack of research on integrating programming education with elementary school science.Based on the objectives of the study,three issues were focused on in this paper.First,through reading and organizing the relevant literatures,the background information and research status were organized and analyzed which are related to the integration of interdisciplinary and programming curriculum with elementary school science curriculum.It clarifies the basic ideas of programming curriculum case design integrating elementary science under the interdisciplinary concept.Second,by combining the scenario model and the curriculum integration approach,design thinking were employed in this paper to guide the curriculum design named “The Adventures of the Little Prince” integrating science knowledge under the interdisciplinary concept.This curriculum sets the curriculum standards for the objectives,content,and assessment of the course.Third,the programming course "The Adventures of the Little Prince" was carried out and evaluated.The implementation process of the curriculum unit "Moon Phase Changes" was elaborated.At the same time,the effectiveness of the curriculum implementation was evaluated to analyze strategies for improvements.The results show that the interdisciplinary programming curriculum integrating science knowledge,can effectively cultivate and stimulate the interest of elementary school students in learning programming.It may improve the existing learning style of our primary school students,increase the classroom efficiency,and develop students’ programming literacy and science literacy.The author hopes that this curriculum case design can serve as an example for more interdisciplinary integration of programming curriculum and the design of elementary school science curriculum. |
