Fiction is a very important and influential literary genre,and the current unified high school Chinese textbooks have selected many famous Chinese and foreign novels and masterpieces."Aesthetic appreciation and creation" is one of the main connotations of the core quality of Chinese subject proposed by the new curriculum standard.How to fully utilize the teaching value of novels from the perspective of aesthetic appreciation and creation,while coordinating the teaching of core competencies in the four aspects,and more effectively improve students’ learning efficiency in novel aesthetic teaching,thus completing the fundamental task of cultivating morality and talent in Chinese language courses more satisfactorily,is a worthwhile and meaningful topic to explore.This article selects the novel titles and novel teaching methods in the unified compilation of high school Chinese language textbooks as the research object.Based on learning,borrowing,and absorbing the beneficial research conclusions of predecessors,it adopts the concepts and methods of literature research,case analysis,questionnaire survey,and text reading to further explore the high school novel teaching topic from the perspective of aesthetic appreciation and creation.The paper has sorted out the concepts of Chinese core literacy,aesthetic appreciation and creation,novels,novel teaching,and aesthetic education in novel teaching,and analyzed the relevant content of aesthetic appreciation and creation and the compilation of high school novel styles,including the arrangement of high school novel works,the general aesthetic characteristics of novels,and the relationship between aesthetic appreciation and creation and high school novel reading teaching.After conducting actual questionnaire surveys,we have gained an understanding of the achievements of high school novel teaching under the joint efforts of teachers and students.For example,the subjectivity status of students is receiving increasing attention,the identity of teachers is developing towards diversity,the teacher-student relationship has undergone a significant transformation,and the emphasis on respect,communication,and cooperation is increasing.The classroom atmosphere is becoming more relaxed and active,and so on;We also found some problems that need to be solved,including the untimely updating of teaching concepts,the single teaching methods,the unclear goals of teaching design,and some deficiencies in examination evaluation and student training.Then we made a more detailed and in-depth analysis of the causes of these problems,which generally include the lack of theoretical literacy of teachers,the lack of scientific and progressiveness teaching methods,The guidance of policies and directions such as exams is biased,as well as the lack of scientific and effective design for student training.In response to these existing problems,this article attempts to propose some improvement measures based on specific teaching content,namely strengthening training to enhance teachers’ theoretical literacy;Enhance practice,enrich and improve teaching methods;Scientifically controlling and improving the orientation of exams and teaching evaluations;Accurate design,improving the quality of student training content,and so on;On this basis,this article selects novel teaching cases that focus on aesthetic aspects for more specific exploration.It is hoped that this study can help frontline teachers choose more effective teaching methods in novel aesthetic teaching,better complete the task of novel teaching,and further promote the development of students’ aesthetic and other core competencies.
