The development of the times needs a large number of innovative talents.The new curriculum reform emphasizes the transformation of traditional education and teaching methods,the implementation of quality education,and is committed to cultivating new social talents with discipline core quality and all-round development.The new curriculum standard of senior high school geography in 2017 puts forward the importance of situational teaching and emphasizes that the creation of teaching situation is to practice the concept of the new curriculum reform,which is conducive to helping students perceive teaching materials,transfer and apply the learned knowledge,and make the subject curriculum problems more closely related to the reality of life.Therefore,the creation of teaching situation is more and more widely used in teaching.Stem education,with its interdisciplinary,experiential and situational characteristics,provides a new idea for the creation of geography teaching situation.This study attempts to integrate the stem education concept with the creation of geography teaching situation in senior high school,and use the stem education concept to guide the creation of geography teaching situation in senior high school,in order to enrich the teaching situation creation methods,improve the geography teachers’ teaching situation creation ability,help students transfer and construct knowledge,and promote the improvement of their geography core literacy.This paper mainly takes the literature research method,questionnaire survey method,statistical analysis method and case analysis method as the research methods.Firstly,through studying the literature,this paper combs the research background of this paper,expounds the research significance,analyzes the relevant research progress at home and abroad of current stem education and geography situational teaching,and perceives the research content of this paper as a whole;Secondly,guided by constructivism theory,learning transfer theory,Situational Cognition and learning theory,this paper expounds the theoretical basis of this study and defines the core concepts;On the basis of theoretical analysis,based on the research theme,the questionnaire of "geography learning of senior high school students" and the teacher questionnaire of "creation of geography teaching situation of senior high school based on stem education" are designed respectively.Through the sorting and analysis of the questionnaire,the problems existing in the current geography teaching and learning of senior high school are found,and the corresponding problem-solving strategies are put forward;Finally,taking the compulsory course of "atmospheric thermal circulation" in the new education edition in 2019 as an example,the case teaching is designed to integrate the stem education concept into the creation of geography teaching situation in senior high school.Through the analysis of the survey results of students’ questionnaire and teachers’ questionnaire,it is found that there are some problems in the application of stem education concept and geography teaching situation creation:(1)in terms of stem literacy,the stem literacy level of both teachers and students needs to be further improved,and some teachers do not pay enough attention to the theoretical cognition of stem education;(2)In terms of cognitive level,some students’ existing geographical cognitive level is inconsistent with the teaching situation created by teachers.Students like interesting situational geography classroom and have a high degree of recognition of physical situation and problem situation;(3)In the aspect of situation creation,teachers attach importance to the creation of geography teaching situation,but some teachers’ situation presentation is too single and the connection between subject knowledge is not close enough;(4)In terms of teaching practice,stem education concept and situation creation do not fit well in geography classroom;(5)In terms of ideology,some teachers and students’ teaching and learning are bound by the traditional thinking set,and the teaching and learning methods are not good.According to the survey results,combined with the theoretical research of stem education and situational teaching,this paper puts forward the optimization strategies of geography teaching situation creation from the perspective of stem Education:(1)strengthen the stem literacy of teachers and students and improve geography teaching;(2)Clarify the level of students’ geographical cognition and clarify the requirements for the creation of teaching situations:(1)comprehensively consider students’ geographical cognition and cultivate their comprehensive geographical thinking ability;(2)Follow the requirements of the new geography curriculum standard and clarify the direction of creating teaching situation;(3)Optimize the presentation of geography teaching situation and infiltrate stem education concept:(1)create geography problem situation and expand students’ multi-directional thinking;(2)Create the main line teaching situation and strengthen the learning experience;(4)Create a geography teaching situation consistent with the stem education concept;(5)Break the box and establish the teaching situation evaluation mechanism from the perspective of stem.The innovation of this paper lies in the innovation of research perspective.It attempts to combine stem education with the creation of geography teaching situation in senior high school,analyze the problems existing in the current geography teaching in senior high school,put forward corresponding optimization measures based on the existing problems,and design case teaching to provide support for practical teaching.However,the researchers have insufficient teaching experience and time is urgent.There are still many deficiencies in the research.The effective combination of stem education and geography teaching situation needs to be further explored and improved.We hope to continue to improve in the follow-up research and teaching practice.
