| With the development of the internationalization of education,an increasing number of Chinese families are joining the craze of studying abroad.In addition,national and local support in policy makes international schools in China develop rapidly.In recent years,the number of international schools has increased rapidly not only in the first-tier cities along the eastern coast,but also in the central and western regions.Students are the main body of education in international schools,and their comprehensive quality directly affects the development of international schools.And student management plays a key role in promoting students’ overall development and improving students’ comprehensive quality,therefore,student management plays an important role in school operation.It is of great significance to study student management in international schools.Based on literature research,questionnaire survey and interview,this paper studies student management problems in three private international schools from the perspectives of management concept,management system,management means,management team and management effect and tries to find out the causes of the problems and explore the countermeasures to solve the problems.It is expected that the research of this paper can provide some ideas for international school to improve the efficiency of student management,improve students’ self-management ability and promote the overall development of students.This study found that the main problems of student management in international schools are as follows: First,there is deviation in management philosophy and all staff participation consciousness is not enough.Second,the management system is inadequate and the implementation of the system is not in place.Third,the management means lack innovation and the power of education is relatively weak.Fourth,the management team building is insufficient and management personnel are not enough.Fifth,the management effect is not ideal and student satisfaction is not high enough.The causes of the problems are as follows: First,there is conflict between administrators and investors in education and management concepts.Second,administrators’ actual remuneration conflicts with that in expectation.Third,there is conflict between students’ self-management ability and administrators’ expectation.Here are some strategies to optimize student management in international schools: First,change management concept and build common value.Second,improve the management system and supervise the implementation in place.Third,enrich management means and realize student autonomy.Fourth,improve the organization of management department and strengthen the team building.Fifth,improve the management efficiency and meet the needs of students. |
