Study On The Influence Of Low-intensity Fun Exercise Intervention On Cognitive Function In The Elderly

Objective:Through the intervention of 97 elderly people aged 60and above with 12 weeks of low-intensity fun exercise program,the changes of cognitive function,response ability,physical function and physical activity ability of the elderly before and after the intervention were analyzed,and the improvement effect of exercise intervention on cognitive function,response ability,body function and activity ability of the elderly was confirmed.Methods:145 elderly people(27 males and 118 females)aged 60and above volunteered to participate in this experimental study in the Public Security Department community and Recreation community of Hohhot after the early publicity lecture.After excluding 48 people who were missing tests before and after intervention or failed to complete all intervention contents for 12 weeks due to personal physical reasons,97people(24 males and 73 females)were finally determined as subjects.Test indicators:including(1)Questionnaire survey:including personal basic information,physical activity and cognitive function rating scale.(2)Measurement index:Body shape index(height,weight), physiological function index(blood pressure,pulse,vital capacity,heart rate,degree of arteriosclerosis,etc.),physical activity ability index (sitting forward flexion,30 degrees sit-up,6m pace,8-step retractable walk,10m obstacle walk,etc.),reaction ability index(average reaction time,sensory motor nervous system function level index,reaction stability Index,sensorimotor function development potential index).Exercise intervention content:including preparation activities,aerobic exercise and fun games,5 times a week(2 times in community,3times at home),60 minutes each time.Full-time intervention leaders were arranged to record the completion of daily intervention content.In addition,on-site supervision,wechat punch card,telephone return visit and other methods are adopted for supervision and guidance.Exercise intensity and exercise load shall be adjusted appropriately according to the physical strength level of the subjects.The Borg rating scale(2-3points)was used as the evaluation criteria for low intensity exercise.Combined with the on-site teaching and training process,some elderly people were randomly selected to measure the immediate heart rate,and the low intensity exercise of the elderly was measured with the heart rate no more than 110 times per minute.Data processing:Cognitive function rating scale,reaction ability, physical function and physical activity ability were tested both before and after the physical activity intervention,and the changes of various indicators were analyzed before and after intervention to evaluate the effect of exercise program on cognitive function of the elderly.SPSS26.0software was used for statistical analysis.Paired sample t test, independent sample t test and Chi-square test were used to analyze the changes of indicators before and after exercise intervention,and the significance level was set as P<0.05.Results:(1)After exercise intervention,the body weight of all subjects and men decreased by 0.3kg and 0.41kg,respectively(P<0.05).There was no significant change in height(P>0.05).(2)After exercise intervention,the BMI of all subjects and women decreased by 0.3kg/m~2and 0.42kg/m~2,respectively(P<0.05).The number of men with normal BMI increased from 14 to 16(P<0.05).The number of normal women increased from 20 to 21(P<0.01).(3)After exercise intervention,there were no significant changes in quiet heart rate,systolic blood pressure,diastolic blood pressure,pulse pressure difference,left brachial ankle pulse wave conduction velocity(Lba PWV),right brachial ankle pulse wave conduction velocity (Rba PWV)and vital capacity in the elderly(P>0.05).(4)After exercise intervention,male seated forward bending performance improved by 1cm;The 8-step retracing performance of male and female was increased by 1.79s and 0.79s,respectively(P<0.05).Although other indexes showed an improvement trend,there was no significant change(P>0.05).(5)After exercise intervention,the average reaction time of male and female increased by 0.02ms and 0.01ms,respectively;Functional level indexes of sensorimotor nervous system were increased by 0.1 and 0.07,respectively(P<0.05).There were no significant changes in other response indexes of male and female(P>0.05).(6)After exercise intervention,the scores of cognitive function Screening Scale(CASI)increased by 1.75 points and 0.75 points respectively in male and female elderly(P<0.05);The overall score of the Simple Intelligence Status Check Scale(MMSE)and the Montreal Cognitive Assessment Scale(Mo CA)increased by 0.83 points and 1.01points(P<0.01).(7)After exercise intervention,the detection rate of MMSE cognitive dysfunction decreased from 45.36%before exercise intervention to 36.08%(P<0.01).The number of patients with abnormal cognitive function decreased by 5 in the 60-69 years old group.In the group over 70 years old,the number of patients with abnormal cognitive function decreased by 4,and the reduction rate was very significant(P<0.01).(8)The detection rate of abnormal cognitive function of Mo CA scale decreased from 57.73%before exercise intervention to 48.45%(P>0.05).The number of patients with abnormal cognitive function decreased by 4in both 60-69 years old group and over 70 years old group,and there was no significant change in the reduction rate in both age groups(P>0.05).Conclusions:(1)Low-intensity fun exercise intervention can improve the cognitive function of the elderly,reduce the detection rate of cognitive dysfunction,and have a good effect on promoting the cognitive function of the elderly.(2)Low-intensity fun exercise intervention can improve the reaction ability of the elderly,shorten the reaction time.(3)Low-intensity fun exercise intervention can also promote the improvement of exercise ability,which has practical significance for improving the elderly’s ability of daily living activities.
