The "Art Curriculum Standards for Compulsory Education(2022 Edition)" clearly states that through learning in the field of "design application",students can combine life and social contexts,apply knowledge,skills,and thinking methods of design and technology,carry out problem-based learning,project-based learning,inheritance and creation.The author found in teaching practice that there are some shortcomings in the current teaching of "design application" in the field of art learning in junior high school.In view of this,the author takes middle school students as the research object,aiming to effectively integrate situational teaching with local culture,cultivate students’ ability to discover,research,and solve problems in the context,while deepening their perception and acceptance of local culture.The focus of this article is on the disciplinary characteristics of art and the basic abilities of middle school students.It is reasonable and scientific to integrate situational teaching into the middle school art lesson "Handmade Book Design",and at the same time,combine the textbook content with the local cultural story "Tian Ji Racing Horse".In teaching,it not only cultivates students’ ability to use the knowledge learned in the classroom to solve practical problems,but also makes them feel the unique connotation of local culture,Enhance students’ cultural identity and cultural understanding.Finally,through practical research,the feasibility of integrating local culture into junior high school art situational teaching is summarized,which is of great significance for enriching curriculum resources and improving junior high school students’ cultural understanding.
