Social Quality And Volunteering Types In Urban China

Volunteer service is a symbol of civilization and progress in modern society and the cornerstone of the construction of socialism with Chinese characteristics.Based on the perspective of social quality,this paper adopts the Logistic regression analysis method to analyze the survey data of "Comprehensive Survey of China’s Social Situation(CSS)" 2019 to study the factors affecting the types of volunteer service participation of urban residents.Firstly,according to the nature and professionalism of voluntary service,this article divides volunteer service into two categories: social service-based voluntary service and functional service-oriented voluntary service.Secondly,according to the quality of society,it explores the factors affecting the types of voluntary service participation of urban residents.The research results show that the four dimensions of social quality have obvious different effects on urban residents’ participation in different types of voluntary services.As far as social service volunteerism is concerned,in the dimension of social inclusion,the more offline communities participate,the more residents like to participate in social service-oriented volunteer services;in the dimension of social cohesion,the more residents participating in non-governmental public welfare associations,the more they like to participate in social service-based volunteer services;in the dimension of social empowerment,the more residents who think that society is fairer they are to participate in social service-oriented volunteer services.As far as functional service volunteer service is concerned,in the dimension of social and economic security,the more satisfied the family’s economic situation,the more willing residents are to participate in functional service volunteer service;in the dimension of social inclusion,residents working in enterprises,institutions and other units are more inclined to participate in functional service-oriented volunteer services;in the dimension of social empowerment,the higher the willingness of political participation,the more likely residents are to participate in functional service-oriented volunteer services.Exploring the influencing factors of the types of voluntary service participation of urban residents from the perspective of social quality can provide a certain reference basis for volunteer service mobilization,which is conducive to further promoting the development of social welfare undertakings and enhancing social cohesion.At the same time,voluntary service and social work complement each other.Starting from the factors affecting the types of voluntary service participation of urban residents,focusing on volunteer mobilization can alleviate the shortage of social workers,waste of resources and other phenomena,and help the professional development of social work.
