The Curriculum Standards for Physical Education and Health in Compulsory Education(2022 Edition)requires that attention should be paid to reform the teaching methods, adhere to the dominant position of students, emphasize the interaction between teachers and students, and take comprehensive evaluation standards in the evaluation progress of learning effects. The existing research shows that the number of people learning Chacha dance is increasing gradually, especially the growth rate of young learners is the most significant, which has become a hot topic in academic research. However, scholars’ current research on the teaching methods of children’s Chacha dance is mostly about explanation, demonstration, encouragement, game teaching methods, etc.,which is conducive to stimulating students’ interest in learning, but fails to combine the improvement of skills with the improvement of interest. The peer teaching method emphasizes that the single teacher’s self-demonstration teaching method should be changed into a way in which students’ can learning from each other, and the students’ subjective initiative should be promoted to the fullest. This study introduce the "peer teaching method" into the Chacha dance teaching of female children, and explore the impact of this teaching method on the learning effect of students. This paper takes the effect of peer teaching method on the learning of 10-12 years old female children’s Chacha dance as the research object, and takes 32 female students aged 10-12 years old from Guangzhou Small Dance Art Center as the experimental object. The formal teaching experiment lasts for 12 weeks. The experimental group of 16 people introduces the peer teaching method, and the control group of 16 people uses the conventional teaching method. Before the experiment, the two groups of students conduct a homogeneity test. After the experiment, their technical ability, learning interest Emotional performance and cooperation spirit shall be assessed. This paper mainly uses the methods of literature, expert interviews, questionnaires, teaching experiments, mathematical statistics and logical analysis to conduct experimental research on the learning effect of students. The results showed that:(1)The technical ability test of the two groups of students: the experimental group was better than the control group in terms of skill quality(P<0.05);There was no significant difference in music rhythm between the two groups(P>0.05);In terms of complete sets of combinations, the difference between the experimental groups was small(P>0.05).(2)In terms of learning interest, there was a significant difference between the two groups of students’ positive interest in learning(P<0.01);In terms of autonomous and inquiry learning, the experimental group improved significantly(P<0.01);There was no significant difference between the two groups in the degree of exercise participation(P>0.05).(3)In terms of emotional expression, the improvement effect of the experimental group was not significant(P>0.05).(4)In terms of cooperation spirit, the students in the experimental group had a stronger sense of unity and cooperation(P<0.01).The following conclusions are drawn: 1.Through the intervention of threemonth peer teaching method, students in the experimental group have significantly improved their Chacha dance learning enthusiasm, but there was no significant difference in the degree of practice compared with the conventional teaching method.2.Before the experiment, students in the control group showed higher scores of affection for Chacha dance than the experimental group, but after the experiment, the opposite was true.It showed that the peer teaching method could improve the students’ level of affection for 10-12 year old female children’s Chacha dance, enable them to persist in completing the learning tasks when they encounter difficulties in the practice process, and deepen their love for Chacha dance courses.3.Peer to teaching under the guidance of teachers has formed a teaching mode of interaction between teachers and students, which improves students ’cooperation ability when practicing Chacha dance, and makes the relationship between students closer.4.Compared with the conventional teaching method, the peer teaching method has a significant improvement in the specific technical movements of the students, but the improvement in the music rhythm and the fluency of the complete set of combinations is small, thus there is no significant difference.
