E-sports has developed rapidly,The top e-sports players are highly paid and popular.Teenagers are flocking to become e-sports players.However,e-sports players have a short career and often face an embarrassing re-employment dilemma after retirement.Ignorant teenagers blindly love e-sports,and even have the idea of dropping out of school to participate in e-sports,which is very detrimental to the development of teenagers and talent continuity.Most of the existing scholars put forward suggestions based on the characteristics of youth groups from a macro perspective.At present,the research on emerging occupations is still in the exploratory stage.Therefore,this study will take e-sports players as an example to analyze the career decision-making of e-sports players in depth,with the intention of fully displaying the career decision-making process and career selection results of e-sports players.Build a theoretical model of the career decision-making process of e-sports players,and understand their true thoughts through in-depth interviews with e-sports players.The purpose is to reveal the true professional status of e-sports players and provide inspiration for contemporary youth vocational education.This study is based on grounded theory,career decision-making self-efficacy theory,career ambition development theory and relevant research results at home and abroad,and makes full use of research methods such as literature method,grounded theory method,in-depth interview method,participatory observation and text analysis method,and selects 20 candidates as the survey objects,and uses Nvivo software to analyze interview records,biographies and other data,Build the theoretical model of the professional decision-making process of the E-sports players.The main research conclusions are as follows:(1)The theoretical model of the professional decision-making process of the E-sports players is composed of 9 categories,namely: hardware conditions,E-sports development,professional matching evaluation,social support,opportunity evaluation,personal background,professional information,professional decision-making and results.Hardware conditions include three attributes: equipment,game place and game type;The development of e-commerce includes three attributes:industry development speed,attention and social attributes;The assessment of career matching includes two attributes: career pursuit and feasibility assessment;Social support includes two attributes: family and friends and social perspective;The opportunity evaluation includes two attributes: strength self-assessment and game ranking;Personal background includes four attributes: family condition,game talent,education background and life cycle;Occupational information includes three attributes: employment opportunities,employment security and income level;Career decision-making includes two attributes: career track and career planning;The result is the result of choosing a job,which is divided into two dimensions: getting what you want and not getting what you want.(2)The study found that the key link in the career decision-making process of the E-sports players is to clarify their career pursuit,and individuals will choose a job that is consistent with their career pursuit and highly feasible to achieve career pursuit as their career.In this process,their decision-making is affected by a variety of factors,such as social support,opportunity assessment,personal background and the acquisition of professional confidence.(3)In the theoretical model of the career decision-making process of the e-sports players,the hardware conditions and the development of the e-sports are the causal conditions for the teenagers’ motivation to choose jobs.After the generation of job-selecting motivation,teenagers will carry out a career matching assessment.At this stage,they will clarify their career pursuit and assess whether they can achieve their career pursuit as an e-sports player.In addition,their decisions are also influenced by social support,opportunity assessment,personal background and occupational information.After comprehensive consideration,they will take action,make career decisions,determine career track and make career plans.Finally,the result of job selection is produced.(4)According to the problems found in the research process,this study discussed and analyzed and put forward corresponding suggestions.The alienation of values and the development of social industries have an impact on teenagers’ professional concepts.Relevant subjects should pay more attention to vocational enlightenment education.Teenagers should change their ideas and establish a correct view of career selection.Parents should pay attention to the influence of family education on career selection and guide patiently.The e-sports industry should improve its professional support and establish industry self-discipline as soon as possible.The society should take an objective view of emerging professions and eliminate prejudice.
