Research has shown that family resilience enables children to cope with difficult events with the support and encouragement of family members, and reduces negative effects. Therefore, exploring the mechanism of the role of family resilience in improving the psychosocial adjustment of senior students and individual self-reliance behaviour is expected to provide ideas and insights for senior students to cope with stress and improve their psychosocial adjustment and self-reliance behaviour.Based on the theme and content of the research, the thesis is based on Lerner’s developmental contextualism and family resilience theory, supplemented by selfdetermination theory. The thesis is then structured using a combination of qualitative and quantitative research models to explore the mechanisms underlying the relationship between family resilience and psychosocial adjustment in senior students. In Study 1,a 16-item family resilience scale was developed based on rooted theory and empirical evidence. The scale contains four dimensions: positive foresight, effective communication, problem solving and social support. In Study 2,432 senior students were empirically surveyed using the Psychosocial Adjustment Scale, the Family Resilience Scale and the Self-Reliance Behaviour Scale, and the following results were obtained:1.The results of the correlation analysis showed that the sub-dimensions of Family Resilience and Self-Reliant Behaviour were significantly and positively correlated with the sub-dimensions of Psychosocial Adjustment in the senior class. The strongest relationships were found between effective communication and social self-awareness and life satisfaction, and the strongest relationships were found between selfresponsibility and life satisfaction.2.The results of the regression analysis showed that family resilience and selfreliant behaviour significantly and positively predicted psychosocial adjustment, with effective communication(β = 0.434,t = 6.224***)and self-responsibility(β = 0.477,t= 7.173***)having the strongest predictive power.3.The results of the simple mediation effect showed that the pathway of family resilience Self-reliant behaviour Psychosocial adjustment held true, with self-reliant behaviour playing a partially mediating role in family resilience and psychosocial adjustment of senior year students.Effective communication has the strongest effect on the psychosocial adjustment pathway for seniors and can directly influence the psychosocial adjustment of seniors.Problem solving and positive foresight need to influence the psychosocial adjustment of senior students through the mediating variable of self-reliant behaviour.4.The results of the analysis of variance indicated that family resilience 、selfreliance behaviour and psychosocial adjustment differed significantly across demographic variables.Based on these findings, this study suggests educational insights and strategies to enhance the psychosocial adjustment of senior year students at the family, school and individual levels.
