| Since the publication of the “Opinions on Promoting Study Tours for Primary and Secondary Schools” by 11 departments including the Ministry of Education in 2016,there has been a growing emphasis on the importance of camp education in China. Many provinces and cities have issued implementation plans for camp education, such as Shanghai,Zhejiang, and Jiangsu. However, despite the recognition of the importance of camp education, there are still challenges to its implementation, such as insufficient social support, weak innovation capabilities, and low effectiveness in nurturing students. In the context of building a high-quality education system, the development of camp education has become a crucial task in promoting all-round development of students. The 20 th National Congress report emphasized the importance of strengthening youth sports work and developing quality education to cultivate socialist builders and successors. Therefore,it is necessary to explore effective ways to implement camp education and make it a key hub for promoting the comprehensive development of young people. This study is based on the theory of embodied cognition, using literature review, survey, and case analysis to clarify the embodied value and necessary states of camp education curriculum, analyze the encountered difficulties and propose improvement suggestions.Firstly, the embodied value of youth camp education curriculum is manifested in four aspects:moral education, intellectual education, physical education, and aesthetic education. The necessary states of the curriculum are embodied in the goal of merging body and mind, shaping the values of quality education, constructing the body schema in curriculum content, emphasizing situational and experiential learning in teaching, and focusing on both physical and mental performance in evaluation.Secondly,a survey and case analysis show that there are several practical challenges to implementing the camp education curriculum, such as superficial understanding of the curriculum concepts, unclear curriculum goals, lack of theoretical basis in stage division, fragmented and rigid curriculum content, inadequate attention to sensory participation learning, and limited diversity and depth of evaluation methods. Finally, based on the comprehensive analysis of research results, this study proposes a “Five Forces” strategy from the framework of the Logan curriculum model, including value guidance, external support, internal support, curriculum implementation, and integration guarantee. The goal is to create a holistic and supportive learning environment,to enhance the cooperation among various parties,to optimize the curriculum system from within,to improve the capability of camp counselors, and to strengthen external support and management. |
