The task of ethnic universities is to cultivate new generations with ideals,abilities,responsibilities,and the ability to shoulder the great responsibility of national rejuvenation.As the main body of moral education work in ethnic universities,counselors in ethnic universities are the backbone of carrying out ideological and political education for college students and promoting harmony and stability in ethnic universities.With the new era and new journey endowing ideological and political education in ethnic universities with new missions,higher requirements have been put forward for counselors in ethnic universities.Improving the core literacy of counselors in ethnic universities is of great strategic significance for promoting the professional construction of the counselor team in ethnic universities,better cultivating high-quality new talents who take on the responsibility of national rejuvenation,and maintaining the stability of ethnic universities.This study adopts questionnaire survey,literature review,interview,and case study methods,with G Minzu University as the research object,to deeply explore the current situation of the cultivation of core competencies of counselors in ethnic universities.Based on the policy requirements of the Party and the state regarding college counselors and ideological and political education work,as well as research on existing literature at home and abroad,this paper preliminarily elaborates on the connotation,composition basis and elements of core literacy of college counselors for ethnic minorities,and the practical significance of cultivating core literacy.On this basis,a questionnaire survey and interview are conducted,Summarize the achievements and shortcomings of G Minzu University in cultivating the core competencies of counselors in the current stage,analyze the reasons for the problems,propose effective paths for cultivating the core competencies of counselors,and propose constructive ideas for cultivating the core competencies of counselors in ethnic universities.Through a survey of the current status of core literacy cultivation among counselors at G Minzu University,it was found that there are problems in the cultivation of core literacy among counselors at G Minzu University,such as a general lack of knowledge of ethnic culture and ethnic theoretical policies,a significant lack of employment,entrepreneurship,and research capabilities,insufficient internal and external motivation for core literacy cultivation,and a need to improve the core literacy cultivation system.The main reason for this is the insufficient internal driving force for the growth of counselors in ethnic universities,and the imperfect external support system.In response to the existing problems,the path for cultivating the core literacy of counselors in ethnic universities is proposed:firstly,to strengthen the self cultivation of the core literacy of counselors in ethnic universities;secondly,to establish and improve the system for cultivating the core literacy of ethnic high counselors;thirdly,to build a platform for cultivating the core literacy of counselors in ethnic universities;fourthly,to create a good atmosphere for cultivating the core literacy of counselors in ethnic universities.
