Support for the professional development of rural teachers is gradually improving, this has to a certain extent contributed to the professional development of rural teachers. However, the professional development of rural teachers is not a solo effort, rather it is influenced by a number of factors. Thus,it is useful to explore how to promote the professional development of rural teachers by placing the factors affecting their professional development in the classroom ecosystem, using multi-agent simulation technology and simulating its dynamic changes with the help of the Net Logo simulation platform, from the perspective of ecology, systemic and dynamic. The research is designed to clarify the relationship between rural teachers’ professional development, classroom ecosystems and multi-agent simulation technology by describing the current state of research on rural teachers’ professional development, classroom ecosystems and multi-agent simulation technology.Firstly, the content analysis method to code 200 pieces of qualitative literature on "rural teachers’ professional development and classroom ecosystems" to get 4 primary codes and 23 secondary codes;around the psychological behaviour of rural teachers’ knowledge processing, the CAS theory, the model of event-related Internet users’ information processing behaviour and the principles of educational ecology were integrated. The principles of CAS theory,event-related Internet users’ information processing behaviour model and educational ecology were integrated with the educational practice processes before, during and after the class, and a rural classroom ecosystem model was proposed.Secondly,it selected a total of six cases of two rural classroom ecology cases in each of three subjects-IT,Mathematics and English-from a county-level primary and secondary school in Yunnan as a sample in order to revise the conceptual model of the rural classroom ecosystem.Thirdly,multi-agent technology is used to simulate the rural classroom ecosystem, and the rural classroom ecosystem is implemented based on the Net Logo platform simulation. Finally, simulation experiments were conducted to simulate the evolutionary development of the rural classroom ecosystem by hypothesising five scenarios with different values of multi-subject attributes,to analyse the results of the experiments and to draw recommendations for promoting the professional development of rural teachers. The innovations of this study include:(1)The use of content analysis, combined with CAS theory, the model of event-related Internet users’ information processing behaviour and the principles of educational ecology,to obtain a model of rural classroom ecosystem, which can explain more clearly the psychological behavioural mechanism of rural teachers’ classroom teaching and provide reference for rural teachers on how to improve the quality of classroom teaching;(2)the use of multi-agent technology, based on the Net Logo platform to achieve a simulation model of rural classroom ecosystem. The simulation experiments based on this model can better simulate the evolutionary development of the rural classroom ecosystem and provide practical suggestions for promoting the professional development of rural teachers.
