Research On The Relationship Between Achievement Motivation,Collective Effectiveness,Team Cohesion And Competition Performance Of Chinese High Level Curlers

At present,China is a big sports country and is steadily moving towards a strong sports country.At the end of the 20th century,curling was introduced into China.In the past 20 years,China’s curling industry has made great progress.The national curling trials are the highest level of curling events in China.In the event where experts gather,the level of psychological control has become an important factor affecting the performance of curling athletes.Many studies at home and abroad have shown that the higher the athletes’ achievement motivation,the better the results of the competition.Collective effectiveness and team cohesion play an indispensable role in achieving good results in collective projects.Therefore,it is necessary to investigate the relationship between the achievement motivation,collective efficiency,team cohesion and competition performance of our high-level curling athletes,and explore and summarize the shortcomings and experience in the process of training our high-level curling athletes.The purpose of the study is to provide reference basis for the competition and training of high-level curling athletes,the coaches to be familiar with and master the psychological quality of athletes,the selection of Chinese curling athletes,and the curling athletes to improve their performance.Based on Atkinson’s theory of expectation value of achievement motivation,Bandura’s theory of collective effectiveness,Carron’s conceptual model of cohesion,By using the methods of literature,mathematical statistics,psychometry,on-site observation and interview,this paper investigates and analyzes the results of the 2021 national curling challenger trials and competitions,mainly using the methods of difference test,correlation analysis,regression analysis and so on to statistics and analyze the data.The main conclusions are as follows:1)At this stage,the collective efficiency and team cohesion of high-level curlers in China are relatively high,showing a certain degree of centripetal force and affinity among members.They can trust each other when the team faces the competition task together.2)Chinese high-level athletes of different genders have significant differences in achievement motivation,collective efficiency and team cohesion,which shows that men are better than women.3)There are significant differences in achievement motivation among high-level curling athletes of different ages,and the level of achievement motivation will get better and better with the increase of age.4)There is no significant difference in achievement motivation,collective efficiency and team cohesion among high-level curlers of China with different training years and bases.5)There are significant differences in group social consistency and group task consistency of team cohesion among high-level curling athletes of different athlete levels in China.6)There is a correlation between achievement motivation and team cohesion,between collective efficiency and team cohesion,and between achievement motivation and competition performance of high-level female curlers in China;Among them,the collective efficiency can significantly predict the competition results.7)There is a correlation between collective efficacy and team cohesion of high-level male curlers in China,and there is a correlation between collective efficacy and competition performance;Among them,collective efficacy and group social consistency can significantly predict competition results.This paper proposes the following suggestions:1)When it comes to the selection of curling athletes and the personnel issues of the team,coaches should accurately grasp the psychological ability of the athletes,take into account the age,task,goal,and the relationship between the players,and cultivate them according to the differences between men and women.2)The national curling team shall formulate competition rules according to the characteristics of curling events.The selection of high-level curling athletes should take the form of group selection.Only a reasonable selection mechanism can make curlers pay more attention to teamwork and collective consciousness.3)There are various uncertain factors and accidental events in curling competitions.It is suggested that scholars should choose appropriate time for testing according to the schedule when studying curling athletes’ achievement motivation,collective efficiency and team cohesion in the future,so as to ensure the accuracy of the test results.
