Fundamentals of Marketing is a basic professional course for finance and trade students of Q Secondary Vocational School,which is universally applicable.However,currently students in Q secondary vocational school have insufficient learning motivation for this course.In order to cultivate and maintain students’ learning motivation and further improve the teaching effect,the teaching design and implementation strategy using ARCS motivation model is studied.ARCS motivation model is A teaching design model composed of four dimensions:A-attention,R-relevance,C-confidence and S-satisfaction,which is used to mobilize students’ learning motivation.The research lasted for two years,aiming at Q secondary vocational School students learning "Marketing Basics" course learning motivation problem,questionnaire survey method,individual interview method and classroom observation method were used for research,and SPSS and EXCEL software were used for statistical analysis of the survey data to find out the reasons for students’ lack of learning motivation.ARCS motivation model is used to design and implement teaching strategies in combination with A variety of teaching methods to achieve A-stimulate and maintain students’ attention,R-establish the relevance between students and teaching content,C-improve students’ learning confidence,Smake students obtain internal and external satisfaction of learning.The effect of teaching implementation is verified by the method of goal achievement evaluation,questionnaire survey and classroom observation.Through horizontal and longitudinal investigation and analysis,EXCEL bar chart comparison and SPSS paired sample T-test,the results all show that after ARCS motivation model is applied,students’ learning motivation of "Fundamentals of Marketing" is improved in the four dimensions of attention,relevance,confidence and satisfaction.The research results show that ARCS motivation model can improve the learning motivation of Q secondary vocational school students in the teaching of Marketing Basis,so as to improve the classroom teaching effect of teachers.In addition,the ARCS motivation model teaching in this study combines the core literacy goals,practices the ideological and political goals,and educates people by virtue.In the teaching practice of ARCS motivation model,the situational simulation method is combined to improve students’ understanding ability and lifelong learning awareness.Combined with group cooperative learning,strengthen students’ cooperative learning ability;Combined with life teaching to apply knowledge to life,improve students’ application ability;Combined with role play,help students adapt to the job,improve students’ professional quality and so on.At the same time,it exercises the students’ ability of independent learning,exploring knowledge,solving problems,language expression and innovative thinking.
