With the rapid development of social economy,more and more competitive pressure,education is becoming more and more intense,various factors lead to primary and secondary school students mental health problems are becoming more and more prominent,among which,depression has aroused people’s attention.In recent years,parental psychological control,as an external factor affecting adolescent depression,has become a research focus,and coping style may also be an important internal factor.This paper discusses the status quo of high school parents’ psychological control,coping style and depression and the relationship among them.On the basis of the group study,the case study is carried out to supplement the conclusions of the group study,and the influencing factors of each variable and the countermeasures taken by individuals are explored.The researchers selected two high schools in Yunnan Province and used the Chinese Version of Parental Psychological Control Scale,Coping Style Scale for Middle School Students and Self-rating Depression Scale with high reliability and validity for the investigation.829 effective subjects were enrolled,and 6 of them were studied in case studies.The research conclusions are as follows:(1)Current research:(1)Research on parental psychological control shows that the psychological control of high school students’ parents is generally at the lower level,mainly manifested as arbitrary power,followed by the withdrawal of guilt and love.There are significant differences in gender,grade,academic performance,single parent or not,mother’s education level and parenting style.Boys are significantly higher than girls,senior one is significantly higher than senior two,students with lower grades are significantly higher than those with higher grades,single parent families are significantly higher than those with non-single parent families,and those whose mother’s education level is high school/vocational high is significantly higher than those with bachelor’s degree or above.Those with authoritarian parenting style were significantly higher than those with authoritative parenting style.(2)The study of coping style shows that high school students are in the middle level of positive coping,and they use more problem solving;Negative coping was at the lower to medium level,with patience being used the most.There are significant differences in gender,grade,academic performance,place of residence,single parent or single child,educational level of parents,monthly family income and parenting style.The most obvious is that boys use problem-solving coping styles more than girls,and girls use venting coping styles more than boys.(3)The study on depression showed that the proportion of depression among the surveyed high school students was 32.8%,mild depression was 22.6%,moderate depression was 7.7%,and severe depression was2.5%.The general situation is not optimistic,and some high school students are more serious depression.There is a significant difference in gender,with girls significantly higher than boys.High school students from single-parent families are significantly higher than those from non-single-parent families.There are very significant differences in grade,academic performance,domicile,whether the only child,parental education level,family monthly income,parenting style.The students in grade three are significantly higher than those in grade one and grade two.Those with low scores were significantly higher than those with medium scores and those with high scores.Rural high school students are significantly higher than urban high school students;Non-only-child is significantly higher than only-child.Parents with low education level are significantly higher than those with high education level.The low monthly family income is significantly higher than the high monthly family income.The authoritarian parenting style was significantly higher than the authoritative parenting style.(2)Relationship studies show that:(1)Correlation studies: parental psychological control is significantly positively correlated with negative coping and depression,and significantly negatively correlated with positive coping;Positive coping was significantly negatively correlated with depression,while negative coping was significantly positively correlated with depression.(2)Regression study: Parental psychological control is a significant positive predictor of depression,and the main predictive effect is from power dictatorship and withdrawal of love;Parental psychological control significantly negatively predicted positive coping and significantly positively predicted negative coping;Positive coping significantly negatively predicted depression,while negative coping significantly positively predicted depression.(3)Mediating study: Coping style plays a partial mediating role between parental psychological control and depression.Parental psychological control can affect depression either directly or through coping style.(3)Case study:(1)Supplementary conclusion on the characteristics of group study:parents who are impatient and strong and like to compare have high level of psychological control;The most common coping method adopted by high school students was to delay and solve problems later.High school students who mishandled relationships were more likely to be depressed.(2)The conclusion of influencing factors: the external cause of parental psychological control is parental educational anxiety;The coping style of high school students is greatly affected by their own personality,emotional state and friends around them.The external factors leading to high school students’ depression are mainly poor interpersonal relationships.(3)Conclusion on countermeasures: The improvement measures of parental psychological control are mainly to communicate well with parents and understand each other;Study hard,don’t let parents worry;The coping methods mainly include talking to friends,diverting attention,asking teachers for help,and positive psychological suggestion.The main ways to prevent and reduce depression are to think less,do more,and avoid situations that cause depression.Finally,based on the conclusions of group study and case study,the author puts forward targeted and feasible educational countermeasures and suggestions. |
