With the application of network,information and digitization in the development of agriculture economic and social in rural area,the rural production and life has undergone great changes.In order to play fully important role of digitalization in rural economic and social development,the state clearly regards digital rural as a strategic direction of rural revitalization and digital China.Promoting the construction of digital rural became the priority direction of rural revitalization and agricultural modernization.Under the promotion of national digital development policy,digital construction in rural areas has made remarkable progress.It’s a sign that rural construction has entered a new stage with the core of digital economy.The evaluation of the application effect of digital rural development in realizing the modernization of agriculture and rural areas and the practical effect of solving the widespread problems in the rural economy and society will become a practical basis and policy reference for the continuous promotion of rural digital construction.At the same time,under the background of further deepening of non-agricultural employment in rural areas and continued low domestic consumption demand.It’s important to tap rural consumption potential to improve domestic demand and build domestic circulation.Promoting household consumption is an important focus for transforming the pattern of economic development and promoting sustainable economic growth.Exploring how non-agricultural employment affects rural household consumption and consumption structure,and how the digital rural development affects the relationship between non-agricultural employment and rural household consumption have practical significance.Therefore,based on the theory of life cycle consumption,lasting income consumption,precautionary savings and liquidity constraint,this paper analysis the effect of non-agricultural employment on the total and structure of rural household consumption,and explores the effect mechanism of non-agricultural employment on rural household consumption.At the same time,the moderation effect of digital rural development on non-agricultural employment and rural household consumption and its heterogeneity are analyzed as well.On the basis of sorting out the development process and context of relevant literature on digital countryside,rural household consumption,non-agricultural employment,etc.,this paper adopts the matching data of 2018 Peking University Digital Countryside Index and 2018 China Household Tracking Survey(CFPS),and adopts multiple regression,grouping regression,robustness analysis and other methods.This paper empirically examined the effect and mechanism of non-agricultural employment on rural household consumption,and further explored the moderation effect and heterogeneity effect of digital rural development on non-agricultural employment and rural household consumption.The following conclusions are drawn: First,Non-agricultural employment has a significant positive impact on rural household consumption.Second,Non-agricultural employment promotes rural household consumption through income increase mechanism and smoothing mechanism.Third,Digital rural development promotes the positive impact of non-agricultural employment on rural household consumption.Forth,Digital rural development plays a positive moderation effect between non-agricultural employment and rural household consumption through income increase mechanism and smoothing mechanism.Fifth,The moderation effects of digital rural development on non-agricultural employment and household consumption are different at the level of individual characteristics of householder and regional characteristics.Based on the above research conclusions,the paper put forward some policy suggestions: First,strengthen the support for labor force transfer to non-agricultural sectors;Second,continue to promote the construction of digital rural;Third,continue to stimulate consumption in rural areas.
