Inferiority is a universal psychological experience.High school students are in the most easy to produce inferiority feeling of adolescence, with the gradual improvement of self-awareness,their self-esteem is also improving, the inner experience becomes more sensitive, more prone to produce inferiority.Excessive inferiority will lead to high school students divorced from reality and difficult to integrate with society, which is adverse to their personality development, physical and psychological development, the implementation of quality education and talent training. Therefore, this study investigates the status quo of high school students’ inferiority complex, and on this basis discusses the intervention effect of group psychological counseling and individual psychological counseling on high school students’ inferiority complex, which has certain practical significance. This study used techniques related to positive psychology to conduct group counseling interventions and individual interventions on high school students’ low self-esteem,aiming to help high school students alleviate their low self-esteem and promote their psychologically healthy development. This paper is divided into study one and study two.Study 1 used the Inferiority Complex Scale,a questionnaire survey of students in a high school in Xinxiang City,Henan Province, which was conducted in five dimensions.Different grades in high school, gender, subject, household registration, class level, whether they were left-behind students, and the status of their grades in the class were analyzed to explore the current situation, causes and characteristics of high school students’ inferiority complex.Based on the questionnaire survey results of Study 1 to carry out Study 2,30 students with high inferiority complex were selected as samples and divided into experimental and control groups.Among them,an intervention experiment was conducted for 15 subjects in the experimental group with 7 intervention activities, and no intervention was conducted for the control group. After the group counseling was completed, the Inferiority Complex Scale was distributed for post-testing,and the data from the pretest and post-tests of the experimental and control groups were statistically analyzed, during which students with special situations were identified and the researcher conducted individual counseling for them, and the following results were obtained:(1)High school students in the surveyed schools generally have a certain degree of inferiority complex, which is more evident in academic inferiority complex and physical inferiority complex.(2)In terms of overall inferiority, there are no significant differences among senior high school students in household registration type, class ranking, whether they are the only child, and whether they stay behind. However, there are significant differences in grade, gender, subject and class level. The overall inferiority intensity of senior one and senior two students is significantly higher than that of senior three students. The overall inferiority intensity of high school girls is significantly higher than that of high school boys, the overall inferiority intensity of high school students without different subjects is significantly higher than that of science and liberal arts high school students, and the overall inferiority intensity of high school students in satellite class is significantly higher than that of ordinary class high school students.(3)After the group intervention, there was a significant effect on the reduction of physical inferiority, social inferiority and appearance inferiority levels in the pretest and post-test levels of the experimental group, and the reduction of self-esteem and academic inferiority was relatively small;there was no significant difference between the pretest and post-test results of the inferiority level of the control group;the mean difference between the post-test levels of the experimental and control groups was significant, indicating that the group counseling intervention activities had a better effect on reducing the inferiority complex of high school students.(4)After the individual counseling intervention, the subjects’ sense of inferiority decreased significantly, indicating that the individual counseling intervention was more effective in treating high school students’ sense of inferiority. Conclusion: High school students generally have a certain degree of inferiority complex, and the overall intensity of inferiority complex is at a moderate to slightly high level. The intervention of group counseling effectively reduced the inferiority complex of high school students, which led to the formation of positive self-concept and self-identity and improved mental health;the inferiority complex intervention of individual counseling led to a significant decrease in the inferiority complex of the subjects, indicating that individual intervention had a more significant effect on improving high school students’ inferiority complex. |
