High school is a critical period for improving students’ comprehensive quality,and the effective implementation of biology laboratory teaching is of great significance to the cultivation of students’ core biology literacy.At present,there are problems such as teachers’ poor understanding of the pedagogical functions of experiments,lack of experimental hardware facilities in schools,and students’ habit of passive learning and lack of independent awareness and inquiry consciousness,which lead to the current status of biology experimental teaching is not ideal and is not conducive to the cultivation of students’ thinking and ability.In response to the above problems,the author consulted a large number of references and research results at home and abroad,and found that "World Café" is a kind of collective wisdom discussion method,which can be applied to the laboratory classroom to change students’ learning style,improve students’ interest in biology and classroom enthusiasm,facilitate the cultivation of students’ higher-order thinking and inquiry ability,and also facilitate the cultivation of It also facilitates the cultivation of core literacy.Since a public senior high school in Yunnan Province has already had the experience of implementing the "World Café" model,and has the teaching atmosphere and experience soil for practice,the author takes the senior one students of this school as the research object to study the introduction of the "World Café" model into high school biology laboratory teaching.Firstly,this paper analyzed the current situation of "World Café" research at home and abroad and the current situation of high school biology laboratory teaching in China through literature research method,and analyzed the feasibility and necessity of introducing the "World Café" model into high school biology laboratory teaching.Secondly,we developed and implemented a high school biology experiment questionnaire and interviews with students and teachers to investigate the attitude and ability level of high school students in biology experiments in the internship school and analyze the reasons for the current situation.Finally,we proposed and implemented the "World Café" experimental teaching model based on equal dialogue,including "group discussion-multiple group discussion-report and exchange-experimental operation".A post-test analysis was conducted to verify the positive effects of the "World Café" model in high school biology laboratory teaching.The results of the study showed that the "World Café" teaching model can improve students’ interest in experimental learning,correct their attitudes toward experiments,and promote their active learning style;it can improve students’ academic performance and promote the development of students’ core literacy in biology;it can promote the development of students’ higher-order thinking and cultivate their lifelong learning attitudes and abilities,and has a profound impact on students.The "World Café" teaching model can also promote teachers’ professional development and improve their educational and teaching abilities.It is hoped that this study can draw teachers’ attention to the experimental section of high school biology and provide feasible strategies and paths for themselves and other high school biology teachers to implement experimental teaching in their teaching.
